Awh hell, I'm not really "at" decisive right now :(

Well our first day doesn't end until Wednesday so we don't have to rush the desicion, I'm going to 'do a Mimi' and sleep on it I think.

I mean no rush is there? Wednesday 10AM?
Tell ya what, in the unlikely event there's no consensus tomorrow morning, I'll throw my vote in with everyone else.

I'm coming around to the idea that a lynch might on-balance be helpful (as long as it's not me) - but man, we've so been here before.

I'm pretty sure that myp isn't lying and we'll be lynching our first townie if we kill him. Having said that, I'm equally sure that if we don't lynch him, he's going to murder/recruit us while we sleep. I also notice Comical is hanging around the thread, evidently alerted by the scent of the gathering mob. I'd rather someone else took the blame though.

We have the vigilante on our side, my friends! A fighter, le resistance! The lone defender of the land and smiter of evil even in our midst.

Need we submit to the whims of the witless, corruptible mob?

Sure, mistakes have been made early on in the past couple of games, but who's to say we're making one now?

Well myoptika is only one vote away from being lynched so the day may end sooner than you think.

I don't believe anyone has exhibited behavior incriminating enough for the votes to swing away from myoptika at the moment.

I'm open to being persuaded to vote for someone else but so far have ended up having to justify my decisions to people who haven't really justified their's.

With it being this close I don't want to risk going to bed only to find out you've lynched someone at 2am.

Actually, I'd better insert a caveat to the Governor's actions. In the event a lynch majority is reached at an unreasonable hour (like, say, from 11pm onwards when most people would be asleep) then the 6 hour window for the Governor does not apply and the timeout will be set from 6 hours after 9am tomorrow morning.

Why did you vote for Runcle?

Perhaps that will shed some light on what you think constitutes looking guilty to the rest of us.

I been trying to get you to justify your choice of vote, seeing as there's about to be a man hanged and you keep claimin' it's so gosh-darned important that he does, and you still didn't!

I already explained mine, not that I'm very confident of it now, and my mind ain't made up yet.

I think we should lynch somebody because we're an angry mob and that's what we do. I don't necessarily think it should be myoptika though, as I'm gullible enough to believe his pleas of innocence (like I believed Comical in the last game). :(
If the suicide bomber decides to do their thing as well, which you seem keen for them to do, then that will pretty much shape the game, especially after the night actions, and that might be pretty bad for the town.

My reasons for voting for you are based on my own observations.

I'm perfectly open to being persuaded to vote for someone else, but not on the basis of proclaiming innocence.

I think to have any chance of winning, town needs to be decisive from day one to prevent either the Mafia of Cult from gaining too strong a foothold, so to suggest not lynching on the first day and biding our time seems a bit odd.

Also, as has already been pointed out, naming yourself as a Vanilla Townie makes you a prime target for the Cult Leader unless you are in a role that can't be converted (or wish to be converted).

If you are in a role that can't be converted, this statistically most likely makes you Mafia.

Yeah it's getting difficult to trawl through the thread

kalmar can you explain your voting history?

I'm trying to get an idea of why people have voted the way they have (specifically people who have voted differently from myself) but the size of the thread makes it difficult.

I voted for Mr Russ because it hurt my brain to read his posts in his farmer's accent. If he looked in danger of getting lynched I would probably reconsider, but I see no reason vote for anyone else at the moment. While I'm a big supporter of the first day lynching, I'm happy to let other people work out who it should be, and I really do believe that myoptika has talked himself into this situation, and is more than likely innocent (or the cult leader).

I voted Myoptika and then Craster and then myoptika again because I thought one or both was trying to start a swing against me, and were thus Mafia. Myoptika pretty much talked me out of it as I've said, so I switch to runcle who was a) being very quiet and b) refused to state he was a good guy in any way. I've since kind of lost confidence in that decision, so my vote is free right now, but as I said I'm not going to join the rush to hang anyone just at the moment (although I admit that's going to look somewhat dodgy if myp is bad after all).

Actually, I forgot, I voted for myself in there when the swing looked like it was heading my way fast, and I was a bit annoyed with being turned on so soon, and innocent and all.

I aught to go to bed now.

if thats the case, do so before bed so we can end the day and see what the score is.

I'll vote for him in the morning if it's not decided by then (sorry myp but I don't think you're getting out of this anyway).

I'm sure this is better for us than jumping in with both feet immediately just to see what happens.

Plus, there's the loose cannon of the bomber to consider. *SPLODES*

You also voted for Mimi using a random generator thing.

You and myoptika both seem to have the most active voting histories, although your's seems to have been when you look like you'd hang so is probably more understandable.

Do you only vote for someone when you know it won't come to anything?

Yeah, I forgot about that, soz. It was in the spirit of picking the short straw, since we basically had (or really still have) not much clue. Since everyone else seemed to be bandwaggoning, there wasn't much going for that approach anyway.

I've said I'll vote for myp and it'll possibly be the deciding vote. I'll press the button now if you think it'll help, but you previously agreed with my suggestion to hold off for now...

And I did hold a vote against myp when he had 6 or 7 votes against him, which was enough for a block vote already if I'd been concerned about that.

It only really matters if the suicide bomber is sold on the suicide bomber idea, which seems unlikely, but hey, it works in real life.

I think it's pretty much a done deal anyway, but I'm not going to vote now and then wait until morning to see the outcome (I don't really want to lynch him because I think he's innocent). I want to see progress though, so I might vote for him in the morning just to move things on.

I'm tempted to own up to being the suicide bomber and get myself into the cult, but I'm afraid I'm not. The real suicide bomber is obviously too sensible to get into a debate about it and will just blow themselves up when they feel like it.

I keep expecting Comical to turn up in the online members list, but it seems he's gone for the night, and so am I.

It is now twilight. Vote status:

Quote:
myoptika: 11 votes (plissken, zardoz, malia, curiosity, lacesensor, joans, kevr, gazchap, craster, mr russ, spinglo sponglo!)

Not voted: jbr, sinister agent, mimi, myoptika, goddess jasmine, sheepeh, runcle, kalmar, rodafowa

After a befuddled day of subjective finger pointing, the town grab myoptika, put a noose around his neck, and prepare to string him up. The noose is set, a majority eagerly await the pull that will see this man choke to the last.

But wait, this day is not over yet. The Governor has the power to grant clemency that will see myoptika survive the day with his neck attached and his blood capilliaries unbroken.

Governor, please PM me your decision. Does myoptika live or die? Please take time to read the thread, consider the arguments, and make an intelligent informed decision based on all that you know.

Given the late hour, twilight will timeout at 2pm tomorrow unless the Govenor PMs me first. If the Governor does not PM me by this time, myoptika will die.

With his feet on the edge of death, Myoptika looks around, hoping, pleading for a sign that this lunacy will be averted and his life will be spared. What might be the last few minutes of his life ticks on by as he awaits word from the Governor...

And finally it comes, the news is not good. Let him swing is the verdict.

With a tumulous roar the crowd pull back on the rope and myoptika is hoisted high into the air, legs kicking, arms flailing as slowly but surely the life expires from his body. Finally he is still and the crowd let him drop, sated.

With no futher ado, they rush to see if they've made the right choice.

A strange scrapbook is found in myoptika's house. In it are various pictures of Tom Cruise, taken from magazine articles and adverts for such films as Rain Man and Top Gun, all the way through to Minority Report and War of the Worlds.

On the front cover, the word 'HERO' is etched into the hard cover with what looks like a pair of compasses. A loose leaf of paper floats out as one of the pages is turned over. It reads:

Quote:
"Tom would never treat me this way. He'd cuddle me and make me feel safe. Don't like the rest of the village, they look at me like I'm strange or something. Some even say I have rubbish hair. Tom would show them! I wonder if any of his friends live in this village? I wonder if they'll make friends with me really soon. I hope so."

Underneath this is written:

Favourite film: Vanilla Sky.

myoptika was a Vanilla Townie. Congratulations town, you just killed your first innocent man.

It is now Night, those with Night Actions please PM me with your instructions. Night will timeout at 8pm tonight.
