Although if Joans had said the right things i would probably have voted for you - and if he'd killed you last night instead of Mr Dave i would probably have voted for him.

A very close game - my real problem was that i couldnt spend any time going over threads for clues - yesterday was a mistake by me - i only had around 30 minutes - checked the thread - and there was 2 votes for Morte already and Dave and Davpaz rattling the cages for something to happen so i did some basic checking , a few posts and then voted - i should have waited (Joans would you have put that vote in for Morte or would you have let things sit ?)

That was supposed to go much smoother than it did.
We started to kill because we wanted the marines out the way, once we had Owen, we knew about Craster and Mr Dom and Curiosity was pretty obvious for the 3rd (we were just hoping there wasn't a 4th). It all started to go a bit wrong once everyone started shouting about Bobby, because it was pretty obvious the marines knew he was alien, which was why I wanted to try and get a vote in (and suggested at least one of the other two did as well), because it was obvious he was getting killed sooner, rather than later (although it may have been around this point I found out the marines didn't actually have a killing role, which was quite nice of them).

Unfortunately, things didn't go according to plan, and Owen up for the lynch the next day, so again, I had to try and appear good. At this point, both me and Termi-whatever we going away for the weekend, so we didn't have much chance to communicate with each other, or the game. I checked in when I could and just tried to look like I was good, but if we could just get someone else lynched, Termi-face would have become the queen and I think we'd have had the game won.

Instead, we got to a point where he was one vote from a lynch, and I could either kill him off, or vote for DavPaz to level it up. I figured if Terimahkaseh got lynched (even while I was trying to decide what to do) and I wasn't voting for him, then I'd have been prime suspect for the final alien.

I missed the whole of the next day, while everyone was kind enough to lynch Morte (I'd left him alive as quite a few people seemed to suspect him), and then just had to hope.

Tl;dr - what was supposed to be a Mr Dave-style vote for someone on the same side, actually led to me having to vote for everyone else on my side. If I'm on a team next time we play, I half expect to be killed by the rest of them :)

I was out all day yesterday, so that might have been what won us the game. If I'd been there and seen it hanging on two votes, it would've been tough. There were times when the aliens (or at least Terimahkaseh and I) could've piled in and got a lynch, but I think we were always one more lynch away from getting the game won and didn't want to risk exposing ourselves. :hat:

Out of interest, how did Grim... know that you and Mr Dom were marines? And was he telling you all the company members, or was he too busy getting information out of you? :)

Because I'm a fucking eejit and told him, via the medium of secret in-game giveaways.

And no - he sold us out to you but not the opposite. We twigged as soon as we gave ourselves away that's what he was going to do, but it was too late by then.

In fairness, we already had Mr Dom picked out as a marine (don't remember why though) before we got Owen's info, but it was handy to know who Hicks was so we could make sure you didn't get a chance seal yourself in.

Yeah, but I still wouldn't have known what was going through his head. :p I didn't want to risk him thinking that Mr Dave couldn't possibly be bluffing him twice and deciding to go for me instead.

I wasn't actually aware we were only one vote away at that point, either.
Hopefully next time I will have a bit more time to spend looking for things.

That was one of the best games of Scum I've played. Probably because of being hugged on the first night and having to pretend to be company while in fact being an alien.

The look on GJ's face when I told her how we knew everything that Bishop had told the company was brilliant. :D

Edit - Actually, that was really lucky. I'd never even thought that we might recruit someone from the company and find out (and continue to find out :p ) everything they knew.

I imagine it was similar to the look on my face when Bobby revealed what Grim... had told the company (we knew Bobby was an Alien at this point), and we realised what must have happened.

Craster, while you're here, can you rescue a few of the alien-related posts that have sneaked into Bits and Bobs. :)

And if it's ok with you, I'd rather not imagine the two of you having similar looks on your faces. :'( :D

We deliberately targetted Owen because of this.

We were going to be really cruel and vote for him on the day he matured into an alien! :DD

Massive thanks to everyone for playing and the patience displayed.
I think it worked pretty well - still some niggles and changes Id make, but hopefully the spirit of the movies shone through.
I was completely tied up with a company conference sun pm through weds eve, managed to get on the blackberry a bit so sorry for that.
It was pretty close in the end, and hindsight is a lovely thing :)

well done to the aliens !

Indeed, it was a good game. Nice one.

I think the Marines were slightly underpowered, and in the end we were pretty awesome lucky that every night that we investigated we found out something useful.
