As night beckons, the townsfolk are getting restless, nearly stringing up each and every one of their brethren.

Finally, otu of exasperation as much as anything else, they decide on a target. Joans, who has gone to bed early. Sneaking up on him en masse, they bury him underneath a barraqge of chovels, pitchforks and electric toasters.

Bang! Thwack! Kerpow!

Joans is dead. He picked a really, really, really bad time to not be around.

Why that bad? Well, his house contains books which speak of 'The Final Solution', and of 'How to inhabit a human body'.

He never had the time to get in his Last Resort.
