Victoria line signal room is currently flooded, but I suspect it's going to take a little more than a few buckets and mops to clear up! :D

The police fished a body out of the river this lunchtime in leeds, but didn't let anyone watch from the bridge. Is this standard?

Yes, someone might recognise them and they need to make sure the family are the first to know when identification has been made.

Yes, much like cats, as it goes. When we lived in London in Borough the stupid fucking bitch and her stupid fat boyfriend in the flat downstairs used to feed the goddamnedmotherfucking stinky urban foxes. The bastards were so tame they used to try to come up the stairs into our flat.*

I would happily kill 90% of the foxes in the country. And badgers. Ghastly fucking bastards, with no natural predators.**

I've never had a cat, but if I had had a cat, I'm sure it would have made a sound like a fox.

The local moggies make sounds like that when they're getting jiggy. Whether they're getting jiggy with each other or with foxes, I don't know.

Uneventful day, went for a cycle, fell off my bike. Then pull over due to a squall going through and then hear a crack behind me:

As I get closer to home the gears start to play up but luckily they only went truly wrong 200 yards from home.

Think this afternoons cycle is up there with the day I fell off 7 times in under an hour on ice.

That'll do you if you want to join a Chas and Dave tribute. You may also need a cymbal or two and a couple of toms.... And some sticks. Make sure you get the right sized sticks.

I once wanted to book a Chas and Dave tribute called Daz and Chave for a radio interview. I was overruled. Got a member of Five Star instead.

More low rent D list celebrity anecdotes as they come in.

A default beginners kit will include:
Hihat, crash cymbal, ride cymbal (OR ride/crash - but I have yet to hear a decent cymbal that denotes itself as such) 2 or three toms, snare, bass.

But you wouldn't be buying separates anyway, so pretty much any drum kit will have the required parts.

However: If you're not in the middle of nowhere/ have a very sound proofed room, playing with such a kit will quite quickly get the neighbours complaining fairly quickly. Particularly if you're no good.
You can go for an electronic kit, but it will annoy people in the rooms adjacent unless your house is quite immune to vibrations.

Drums are noisy.

She was out, so I filled in her bits of the "Buying drums is an ace idea" conversation in my head. I was surprised how positive she was about it.

When I say neighbours, I'm not talking only about the ones next door. The sound can travel quite a distance. I'm talking in the region of at least 4 doors down, both sides of road, probably more and certainly more if they want to use their garden.

Isn't Gaywood trying to sell his (electronic) drum kit? Or is that something he's keeping when he moves?

I just thought I'd order a pizza for myself from Dominos. I've never done it before and at £17.99 for just myself, I can see why.

Screw that!

Dominos prices are entirely theoretical. There's always huge discount codes and vouchers available.

Amusingly while I was on holiday last year we went to order some for collection and they wouldn't accept the 50% off coupon I had, but did offer us buy one get one free instead.....

Loads of people seem to be having issues with mice. We certainly have, but also people at work. Maybe the weather, or just a plague caused by those gay married types who fucked up the weather.
