My first thoughts are that he's a selfish prick... And that will have to stick because I haven't got time to watch it.

I realised the other day that I'd memorised a friend's number plate on their car despite only seeing it twice.

This made me realise that I could remember the number plate of every car I've ever owned.

I decided to make a list, of all of the vehicle number plates I have in my head. So, not just the ones I've owned, but any that I can remember - friends, family, even random number plates spotted out in the wild that have stayed in there ("obvious" ones like "A1" excluded)

I've got to 40 so far. I don't know why I remember them all, they serve no purpose, but it surprised me that there were so many - there could be more that I just can't quite recall but are sitting in the back of my head somewhere.

The latest wedding craze - 3D printed models of him and her.

Or has this already been done and Oxfordshire is behind the times as usual?

So, today is 'blue Monday', whether you believe this or not, it is certainly one of the more depressing times of year, when people are looking to new jobs and are generally dissatisfied with their lot. So my company has decided to roll out the internal company satisfaction survey today. Nice!

Presumably on the grounds that it can only improve from this point on.

So, what's the deal with Steam Greenlight then? I understand it's a way for people to vote on which upcoming games should be available to buy on Steam but I don't understand why something like that's required. Steam's a shop so why is not a case of a developer turning up with a new game to sell and Valve just adding it to their inventory? Obviously to do that they need a description, game art, the actual binaries, etc but I'd have thought almost all of that could be collected by having the developer submit it all themselves so the overhead at Valve's end should be minimal surely?

Given that it does exist then it must be needed and I'm being a thick twat here somehow, who want to tell me exactly how I'm being stupid this time?

I thought the same thing. But I suspect it's simply to stop Steam turning into a shower of crap that is the iOs or Android marketplace? Just look at how much ire Gnomoria on Steam generated because it was a Minecraft style "always being updated game". This was before Steam had the "early access" stuff.

Although Gnomoria was released via Greenlight so I guess my point is meaningless..

Hotel booking for one. it used be if you searched for a hotel in a location, it gave you the option to check availability on specific dates. Incredibly useful if you travel for work and so stay in towns that you don't know very well.

I'm assuming you have the preview of the new maps?

Anyone watching Panorma about police shootings. Not one mention of the mobile phone in Mark Duggan's hand as being the explanation as to why the cop opened fire.

Interviewee:

"The officer said his eyes were glued to the gun. But he was found not to have a gun. So you tell me - what do you get from that verdict?"

Interviewee - Duggan family lawyer:

The jury found the gun had been thrown prior to the shooting. There is no gun in marks hand. So if there is no gun in his hand then the threat from the gun is not there.

It's so pathetic it's unreal.

Essentially, guy emails me and says he's got my file but can't find something. I told him the information he wants is on the accounts system. He emails back with a large explanation as to why he needs this information so I email him back and tell him again to stop being lazy and just look on the accounts system like everyone else. It's literally a button click away.

Instead of looking it up he emails the head of the department. What a knob.

Oh man, my sympathies mate.
Nothing worse than some tiresome, crybaby twat who goes sobbing to the boss behind your back, or indeed office politics in general. I doubt I'd last very long in a large, conventionally corporate office these days.

Try to hold your temper mate (I know that's rich coming from me), and retain the moral high ground. If you react in a proportionate, accurate and fairminded way, you'll just make this guy look even more stupid, whereas if you blow up, the boss is going to think there might be something in it. Good luck.

I get that kind of crap all the time with people emailing my manager demanding that I sort out their IT problem *RIGHT NOW*, so I usually take great pleasure in pointing out that I'd actually done it weeks ago and include the email where I'd told them so.

I haven't had the email, but when I connected in this morning I had a notice.

I thought I'd look at the paid option. It's £29 for 2 computers a year, then jumps to £79 for 5 and £139 for 10.

If it was £29 for 10 then I might have paid that. But given that a little while ago, it was free for as many as you like, I think that's too much!

That happens all the time. For some reason people need to hear my boss say the exact same words for them to get the message.

Happy Birthday Gilly! It's not that bad being in your 30s. You're officially a proper grownup, so you can act like a teenager without judgement.

That's an ace present Gilly! I hope you have a great time. When is that match? For Mr. flis' Christmas present, we're going to watch Ireland v Wales in Dublin in February. I got him some Irish themed temporary tattoos as well so he'll definitely fit right in. I just have to get him to drink something other than Blue WKD now...

Happy birthday Gilly, I hope your present is a gilet.

Haha, it is! Well part of it at least lol. I got a Scotland rugby one for wearing when I go to my main present, which is a four night trip to Rome to see Scotland v Italy :D

The game we're going to is 22nd feb. We've got a hotel right in the centre of Rome, I can't wait! The atmosphere should be amazing and as has been said, it's one of the few games we might have a chance at winning ;)
Enjoy Ireland, that should be a cracking game!

Thanks for the birthday wishes everybody
