Yeah, some are like that. No doubt some do it deliberately to annoy, but some are just slow thinkers or like to really analyse their every move (and every potential move). Trump recently played against someone like the latter in an arranged 1 to 1 competition match (no time limit to make a move) and his opponent often took 3 or 4 minutes to make a move. AND the guy won (eventually).

Knew it was tempting fate :D Ended 7/3, got 150 gold though, so that arena run turned out to be free, and I got The Black Knight legendary in the card deck :) Not a bad session!

That's pretty damn good, well done. :)

Just noticed that I've won 91 games over the past few days with my Mage - nearly a fifth of the way to my Gold Mage. :)

Entered the arena as a Priest. Am currently 1/1. Thought I was gonna beat a warrior. Had 15 health and he was dead next turn, but he threw out a charging minion, buffed it massively, then added a weapon and buffed that too. Killed me in one turn :(

Ah well.

What's with this forum's obsession with priests?:). It's the weakest arena class imo.(together with warlocks)

I did my 7/3 with a priest. For arena I generally just choose the class that I have a quest for though :D

One of my mates on there has turned to the dark side and put together a Hunter rush deck, and he walloped me in a friendly game with it last night.

Needless to say I abused him terribly (this was a pre-BF4 match so we were both on Mumble) and them demanded a rematch with an anti-rush deck that I'd just need 5 minutes to put together.

The name I gave the deck says it all, and it also utterly demolished him.

Rush decks are so easy to beat if you know you're going up against one, the problem is they're basically single-purpose so seriously underpowered for anything else.

Just put together the lamest hunter rush deck you can possibly imagine, simply to get the day's quest done quicker (play 30 minions that cost 2 or less).

Only went and won with the bugger, and quite easily at that :D

I apologised to my opponent when I made the killing blow, plus it was in Casual and not Ranked, I'd feel dirty taking a rush deck into Ranked.

I'm clearly going to hell for this.

Poor bloody mage.

I apologised again at the killing blow.

You know, I think I could win a lot of games in Ranked with this awful fucking cheap nasty cheaty bastard deck.

I dunno. I'd not really played with or against one, so thought I'd give it a spin. Much prefer several other classes.

I agree that they are weak, but they can be incredibly annoying due to their incessant thieving of minions and copying of cards.

A few rules regarding Priests:

a) If they drop a Lightspawn, kill it immediately
b) If they drop a Lightwell, also kill that immediately
c) Be aware that minions of 3 or less attack damage or 5 or more can be killed with Shadow Word:Pain and Shadow Word:Death respectively
d) Be aware that they are more than happy to borrow or permanently steal minions from you (and not just with Mind Control either)
e) You can find your own cards used against you which they have copied from your hand/deck
f) Be aware of their health and attack buffing abilities (double health, make attack value equal health - especially when used on Lightspawn this can become a real problem)
g) Carry some good removal spells - any kind of Silence is good, as is Hex (Shaman), Polymorph (Mage), Siphon Soul (Warlock), etc, etc for those Priest cards which get seriously out of hand due to serious buffing

Hmmm actually this rush lark might be a bit harder than I've given it credit for, since I just lost three on the trot in Ranked with my CheapWarlock deck.

Now admittedly it gave me a mage EVERY SINGLE TIME which is the best control class in the game, but apart from one of them which was very close I got pretty well beaten in all of them.

I think I need more murlocs.

Opponents seem to hate me as well, I haven't had any friendly emotes in any of the games, so it looks like they all hate cheap rush decks as much as I do.

I apologise regularly to my opponents, and have been giving them a 'Well played' emote when they beat me, all of which have been bet with a wall of silence.

If there were 'Fuck off you dirty cheap bastard' emote available, I'm sure they'd be using it....

So I've now got the worst of both worlds, not only am I a hated warlock rusher, I'm a fucking incompetent one who still keeps losing anyway :D

Went 1-3 as a Priest.

Was doing well, had a 30-15 health lead, opponent had two fewer cards and a couple of weak totems, and I had a 10/10 creature.

He then uses 4 cards to call 6 minions/totems, which I cannot kill, and has a couple of crappy 0/2 taunting totems which I have to attack every turn, as his little crappy minions slowly bleed me to death.

I hereby renounce rushing, partly because I keep losing, partly because I don't have the cards to build a proper rush deck, and partly because everyone hates rushers and it makes me feel slightly unclean to play as one.

I am now back playing my proper Warlock deck, one more win away from 10 gold which will tip me over into an Arena purchase.

Considering I've only spent £1.99 on this game (and even that was just to get the legendary), it's the most amazing value for money proposition.

Fucking priests.

He put down a Guribashi Beserker, doubled its health, changed its attack to be equal to its health, whacked me for 14, and then double mind blasted me for 5 damage a piece - all of which with me having no opportunity to stop him at all.

What the fuck are you supposed to do against something like that?

He did apologise to me, which is something I guess......

But on the other hand, how many times is he able to pull that combo off?

Priest has a big card disadvantage problem. They spend cards buffing the minions which leaves them open to silencers/assassinations/polymorphs, etc, which means a 1-2 or 1-3 trade off.

Oh yeah it's a very gimmicky move and he's entirely relying on getting the cards in his hand early on to pull it off, so I just got on the wrong side of the RNG for that game I suppose - still sucks though.

Certainly in the two turns that I had to respond there was nothing in my hand I could work with, and I'm wary of the Beserkers when playing a priest for obvious reasons.

EMO RAGE QUIT OVERLOAD.

In fucking Arena as well, conceding on Turn 3 really should not happen, but I did build the worst pally deck in the world ever and then made a shit-ass mistake and lost the will to continue.

Went down 1/3 so fuck this I'm going to watch a film instead.

I shall seek out something really violent and brutal on Netflix.

I am gonna have to play as a Shaman. Never beaten one yet in ranked play. The totems are infinitely stronger than, say, the Paladin's 1/1.

Have you been watching Trump's free to play Shaman?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69e6h-5VbiA

He's starting from scratch on the Euro server. Highly recommended. He did the same with a Mage a few weeks ago and that was an excellent watch. No legendaries, no money spent, only earned in-game Gold and crafting cards from whatever he wishes to dust.

As an aside, I'm now rank 10 with 3 stars and 100 wins with my Mage. :)

Who hasn't got time to watch a 30 minute video at some point?

Unless you're like REALLY close to discovering the secret of world peace, or something.

(I would also make an exception for being 30 minutes away from wooing Britney Spears before she went mental.)

Did have a quick look at his Mage deck, but it needs 1240 dust to craft, so I need to play a lot more. Made as close as I could to it but got destroyed by a L23 rogue. They just made a 16 strength thing I could neither block nor kill.

Who doesn't have thirty minutes to do something onerous?

Someone who doesn't want to do something onerous.

But if you like the game then surely spending a short amount of time watching a video of someone who's incredibly good at it would be both instructional and entertaining?

He's edited them together really tightly too, so there's no waiting around for turns to be played, and the commentary is hugely informative.

To my mind it's the sort of thing that's worth finding a bit of time for, (I tend to watch a Trump video when I'm eating my tea), but each to their own I guess :)

Still chuckling at the Priest hate. The fact it doesn't seem to be terribly well represented in ranked or arena play only makes me more compelled to work it as hard as I can.

I think the thing I like is that there are no generic priest strategies, as with rush decks. Unless I have utterly terrible draw, I often have many options as to how to handle any given situation. Sometimes I'll use my Inner Fire to buff an enemy minion to get it to 5 attack so I can kill it with a Shadow-Word death. It's a bit inefficient, but if I've got no other way of killing it, it's an option available to me.

Priest: Has options.

Good job :)

Is there some sort of reward for getting a high rank in each season? I think you get a new card back for getting above L20 from now on, but do you get anything else for getting higher ranks?

Solely a Mage, using what was Trump's free to play Mage deck where he added some Legendaries but with some of my own modifications (I have Ragnaros, no Ogres, but added 2 x Defender of Argus).

Just played as a Shaman while drunk and got three wins to go from 20 and 0 stars to 19 and 3 stars. Lost the last one to a Hunter deck that was sort of rush. I was killed when I had 5 mana, but it seemed fair. He just had the right cards. That 3 Mana summon a random beast is an awesome card, as whatever beast it chooses is always worth more than 3.

Just had the Longest. Game. Ever. against a priest (what else), or at least it felt like the longest game ever since he used damn near his full time allocation for Every. Single. Turn. - THERE IS NOTHING ELSE YOU CAN POSSIBLY DO JUST PRESS THE END FUCKING TURN BUTTON FOR GOD'S SAKE.

Thought I finally had him, he was almost out of cards and had 3 health, but he managed to get that cheapass little thing out (young priestess?) that draws a card every time you cast a heal and hid it behind a Lord Of The Area (6/5 taunt), then proceeded to topdraw two of those double a minion's health thing so I was left facing a minion I had no hope of killing at that late stage (20 health.)

Conceded to the bugger. Very frustrating game.

Northshire Cleric you mean. I've taken her out of my deck as I've found she dies far too quickly to be useful. Replaced with an Acolyte of Pain which, while much more expensive, always gets me at least one card.

I do wonder if some people use the maximum time to troll you, banking on people who'd rather concede than wait, in order to get their win rate up.

Just won six on the trot in Ranked with my first pass at a druid deck, I've been tweaking a card or two as the rounds have gone on, and a couple of them have been very close - but finally got Rank 18 and with two stars as well :)

No idea if it's a particularly good druid deck but there do appear to be fair few logical and synergistic choices card wise, and I've followed the standard mana curve pretty closely. I think it'd struggle against a rush deck but other than that it seems to working OK.

Obviously I'll lose the next six now.....

Got enough gold for an Arena entry so maybe I'll give that a punt, worst case scenario is I get a pack of cards :hat:

What a ridiculous arena round that was, had a shammy absolutely against the wall and FOUR TIMES ON THE TROT IN THE ENDGAME his random totem was the fucking taunt one.

Worked through it and was there, job done, next turn I've got him, he topdraws that '+3 for all minions'' card and finishes me off absolutely to the single health point, there was LITERALLY NO OTHER CARD that could have saved him at that point, and even then he only got chance to pull it at all because he got a taunt totem four times on trot, any other totem and he'd have been fucked.

The RNG in this game can be fucking infuriating at times.

After taunt totem number 1 I was like yeah OK, then at number 2 I was like 'That's quite lucky', for number 3 I was like 'Oh for fuck's sake come on' and for number 4 it was just FUCKING FUCK OFF.

It's too easy to rage at this game sometimes. But as Trump says, it's only a game - not worth getting steamed up when you have a bad run (although that's easier said than done).

After having a bad few games and dipping back to rank 11, 1 star yesterday now up to rank 8, 1 star today. :)

You are too easily enraged AE - I lose all the time to scummy topdraws, but I win from them just as much.

I just had a rather funny situation playing as an arena Paladin. I have a Knife Juggler out, and the Noble Sacrifice secret.

He drops a Bluegill Warrior with charge, and goes for the Juggler. The Sacrifice activates, but on summoning the minion, the juggler throws a knife, and KILLS the Bluegill.

So suddenly, there's nothing for the called-up Sacrifice to die to, and so he doesn't. The next turn I have a 2/1 minion to play :D

Never seen that before, I chuckled muchly. FYI when you command the NS to attack he says somethign like 'Haha, I LIVE!'.
