I am throwing this out to you lot for suggestions. I am game for most things that I can afford, will not kill me, and is legal and moral (ish)……

So far I have had :-

Sky diving

Nonsense, my workmate did tough mudder and he's a skinny little thing. His mate is Kov shaped and he got round too. The trick is... take some athletic mates.

Learn to waltz, foxtrot, or tango.
Buy an expensive suit and wear it daily.
Complete the Circle Line pub crawl (harder now it's no longer a circle)
Shoot a range of guns.
Visit the highest points of the Six Nations (as for the 3 Peaks-yeah, I'm up for that)
Brew your own beer
Grow a manly beard
Wrestle a bear
Camp under the stars
Go to Yellowstone!
Come to Oxford someday .

Sounds ace. If you're heading through Mississippi, be sure to get to Natchez. Beautiful place.

I did America coast to coast in a greyhound! And sat across the isle from two of Coolio's roadies for half the trip.

On the way back I didn't sleep at all. Then spent a weekend not sleeping in a hostel in New York that was rat infested. And then flew home (still no sleeping). All told I didn't sleep for almost 6 days, then I slept for almost 36 hours (waking twice to go to the loo, and have a drink of water), followed by 10 hours or so awake, and then a normal night's sleep.

I don't think I could manage that now though.

I want to do it by train someday. And then, perhaps, in a 1952 blue Chevrolet.

Which reminds me - something else for Kov:

- Ride the Trans-siberian railway.

One of the things on my list, and something I intend to do quite soon, is explore this place.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamchatka_Peninsula

Camping out in small huts, surviving in vodka and potatoes. Helicopter rides over lake-filled extinct volcanoes.

Who's with me!

Post subject:  Re: Kov's bucket list

My "list" is more an informal collection of thoughts, but I should probably start writing these things down so that I remember them.

Gain the skills & confidence to climb lead on trad routes.
Push up a sport grade or two.
Try ice climbing.
Go bouldering in Fontainebleau.
See the aurora properly since I've only ever seen a green glow a few degrees above the horizon.
See more noctilucent clouds since they're one of my favourite things ever :luv:
See a Morning Glory cloud roll on by. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morning_Glory_cloud
Learn to paraglide.
Find a cast fossil since I've only ever found molds.
Go camping around the peak of the Perseid meteor shower every year until I'm deid.
Visit Cape Wrath during Exercise Joint Warrior & watch them bomb the shite out of Garvie Island.
Make the music quiz in That London.

There's no fucking way I'm racing this, but I plan to ride it. It's far too long a way to travel without regularly stopping to enjoy it all, plus I like sleep & pubs far too much ;) http://tourdivide.org/

Closer to home there's this. Not racing it either for much the same reasons. http://www.highlandtrail.net/

... & I still fancy riding the Tour du Mont Blanc & Grande Traversées du Jura over in Frenchland.

I've still got the WHW to wander. Done most of it on the bike, but never walked any of it. I'll probably go along with some of Ronald Turbull's suggestions to liven things up & get away from the crowds. http://www.amazon.co.uk/NOT-The-West-Hi ... 852846151/ Then I'll keep going to Inverness because Fort Wullie is a shitehole :DD

Probably the scariest thing on mine is this bastard*... http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/fortwill ... gach.shtml
*Aye, I suffer from vertigo when on foot. I think it's because I have more time to think about what I'm doing.
