I currently have on my desk:

1 2008 iMac
1 2012 iMac
1 2008 Mac Pro
1 2012 Mac Mini
1 2012 Macbook Pro
5 (!) 4th Gen iPads
& one plain old boring Dell Optiplex 790.

Looks like my fears about becoming the 'Mac Guy' were totally unfounded

I had this once when I was working at Virgin. My management didn't write me a cheque. They paid me in cash! It was loads of fun walking through Watford with a grand in fifties. I wasn't nervous at all, oh no.

Windows seven installed! I just pulled a hard drive out and installed it over one of the ones that wasn't going to break. Seemed the best idea. Dunno where my itunes has gone though.

The abject, irredeemable cynicism of the media, press and journalists knows no bounds mate, as long stated.

Heh. I like your sentiments, but sadly the gutter press are very much part of 'the media'. However, we shouldn't kid ourselves for one millisecond that the problem is restricted to only the likes of these red top rags, or that somehow there's no culpability for stuff like this among journalists as individuals (or as a profession).

Oh, I agree entirely. Was just a chance for a cheap jibe at ['that traitor Snowball!' - Big Pig Napoleon].

The media exist to make money, after all.

Still, could be worse. Could be the Express.

Just had the biggest dragonfly I've ever seen fly into the office. I work in mostly female office environment, and without trying to be sexist, I've never seen the room clear so fast. My co-workers aren't normally that fast out the door at clocking off time.

Fortunately your correspondent here was able to quickly equip his fire retardant armour and shield and shoo the beast out of the nearest window. It was like the perfect juxtaposition of contemporary office drama and high fantasy.

They gave me a cheque, so I went straight down to the bank with it. They reckon it'll clear on Wednesday - a whole week after payday. Bit of a bastard, I won't lie. Fortunately none of my major bills come out till after then.

I had left my umbrella at work, so it was with some trepidation that I left the house this morning.

It all stayed okay! I got into the office, and within 30 seconds there was an almighty downpour!

That never happens!

I found out yesterday that a friend of mine (who works for the company I've just started in worryingly) did 49 hours of overtime last month. She's done more than double her entirely monthly contracted hours. Fucking mental.

I got to my shoot yesterday at 8am, the location had a powercut, power only came on at 1.50pm and we ended up wrapping at 11.10pm.

I feel utterly destroyed. Similar to a hangover.

In an email just now from Virgin Wines:

A pub somewhere in the south-east whose wi-fi access requires entering an email address and a date of birth sent me a voucher for a free birthday drink yesterday. As I lied about my age to get access, I'm not sure they'd believe me if I turned up with it and claimed to be 103 years old as I entered on their login page.

Yes. Yes it is. And the strip club under the arch seems to nod towards the businesses there. Which amused me.

I'm pretty sure any activity stops being fun if you know you're dropping halfway through. Drinking, eating a steak, class As, sex. Yep, that's everything. No, wait, one more - sleeping too.

I think cras probably summed it up better though.
