The PS3 ownership seems to be increasing on BeeX. There's needs to be some kind of PS3 friend name thingy for friendening.

ianaris if anyone wants to add me.

I'm just looking online to see what tickets are available but I think I'll go to the station tomorrow and just get them there. Hopefully I won't need to change at Birmingham.

Agreed. I've played my PS3 far, far more than my 360 this year. And dark souls is much better on it too.

I'm skeptobot (i think)

Which bit are they struggling with?

They have an envelope and that's it.

Played 5 hours, o far this is pretty epic. Intro is superb, presentation voice acting and melee all great. Good mix of search to shoot, better thn uncharted 1 and 2 at least.

The good thing is that if we all get PS+ (and you're a fool not to, it's brilliant value) then we'll all have the same games for multiplayer fun.

I just phoned Tesco and asked if "partially ready" meant that they only had the envelope or the game.
She didn't see the funny side....

Apparently it was sent yesterday by RM first class, so it could arrive at any point up to July.

The comments on this review are hilarious. Most of the times Qt3 gets about 5 comments MAX per article, with most of the talk happening in the forums. Right now we have 518 comments on this review :) (The 'problem' is that it's one of the few neutral reviews on Metacritic, which obviously riles up HYPE TRAIN passengers)

:this: Maybe when we're tired of this shiny shiny some bezzies could play some Little Big Planet Karting (Chinny would have loved this I'll be betting) or some X-COM or some MotorStorm (get this everyone by the way, it's aces. No seriously. It's fabulously mental.) or some etc.

I'm Loopdreams on PSN, same as Xbox.

Just went to Blockbusters to get this and the nice lady behind the counter said there weren't any copies for sale only rental but they'd knock the cost of the rental off the purchase price when they get some in but she also reckoned it was only 20hrs long so I might have finished it by then anyway.

FFS, don't play this people until they fix it. It's good, but not good enough to play through over again immediately...

Supposedly so, I'm going to wait till tomorrow though. Can't face replaying the last hour again right away. Plus that'll see if it really is fixed!

Server based games people, it's the future :D

Don't be a fucking Luddite! No Internet connection ever craps out! All net connections run at least a TB/sec and if you don't have that then you're scum and you can burn in hell.

Very nice so far. It reminds me of Manhunt of a fashion. Slow, methodical, brutal gunplay, a similar crouching speed (for some reason made me think of manhunt more than anything), the raised camera and stuff. I love a good campaign story with no multiplayer hang ups. Glorious stuff.

Not really a spoiler but

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I love how Ellie gets under Joel's arm when they're pressed against a wall.

Great opener by the way. The bit in the house was great; her voice crying out was really superb. In fact, the voice acting overal has been absolutely top drawer. Naughty Dog do a great job of this stuff.

I wish I'd turned the difficulty up to hard though as I want bullets to be more lethal (they're pretty show stopping but, say, standing in front of a machine gun shows how they're timed to give you a chance to run after one hit).

Back to where I was again...

The combat feels incredibly visceral, even thing im playing on easy :D

My plan is to try and finish this during the week, then trade it in at the weekend towards a ps+ yearly pass. Take that, Microsoft!

You can whack the difficulty up in the menu mid-game. This is lots better. I'm dying much more and I love it.

I got pretty emotional when I realised it hadn't saved.

Bit underwhelmed so far. I'm not being contrary or anything, I was really looking forward to it and I can't single out any particular aspect for criticism, I simply don't find myself all that excited about playing the rest of the game.

Am I wrong in thinking the problem was with the 'autosave' but if you did a save to your hard drive there wouldn't have been a problem? I always end my session with a full blown mega-save.

It caused a problem where in the pause menu all the options were greyed out while it tried to do the autosave. So you couldn't do that if you tried. If you played with the console offline it was ok but you would have had to have started that way.

Ah, gotcha. It does make you wait while it does an autosave before you can do a big ole save doesn't it.

I'm enjoying it despite the actual game, I think. I don't do sneaky, nor do I enjoy knowing exactly what I have to do but being beaten by luck, or the game engine, or my lack of skill. So I should hate this game, but for some reason I don't. True, when I actually have to do something I just want it over and done with as quickly as possible, to get back to the story part, but I'm still enjoying it thoroughly.

Nope, the other option is working out what needs to be done, and then not being randomly stopped from doing it.
See also, Boss battles where you have to repeat the same thing over and over again, even though you know exactly what needs to be done.

I don't mind being shit at games, but I really dislike repetition in them. :D

Another example, I got to one of the only levels in Thomas Was Alone that has a wall of death time restriction in it. I know what I have to do to pass the level, but after being killed twice for being a bit too slow, I turned it off and haven't been back since.

I've started playing it and just completed the intro and already I'm looking forward to seeing my fiancée play it later so as I can see her reactions. Voice acting, character animation etc are all up there with Uncharted. When I got the ps3 I played heavy rain first, then started uncharted 2. So glad I did it in that order because the voice acting and stuff in heavy rain would have been shown up majorly if I'd went into it straight after uncharted.
Anyway, back to this game...totes amaze balls as the cool kids say.
