I've seen flubit.com mentioned on a few of the bargain websites over the last few days and the feedback seems to be positive - you point them at the best price you can see for something and within a day or so they will come back and beat it

I tried it with a few titles and it did come back with a discounted offer on them and it does seem to be something that would be useful if you want to get something and are not desperate to buy it that second.

(I tried Luigi's mansion at £33 which was the best I could find from Amazon and it gave me an offer for £29.50 - however following the links on Savygamer I could get it now for £28 , I also tried SSFIV pointing it at play's £10.99 and it offered it to me for £9.45)

This is a really interesting concept. I wonder how they do it?

It just searches Savygamer for the cheapest option.

"Hello, we have 25 customers wanting to buy GAMEX at £13.52. Can you sort that? Thanks." I would guess. Wait until the number of customers is high enough to make a difference, I would have thought.

I did think that but it's said it would get back to me in 48 hours. That's for Fire Emblem on the 3DS... Would they really get that many enquiries about it in that time?

Either way.. I'll keep looking and hopefully use it.

I've tried 3 games so far - all got 'offers' within about 12 hours and all were cheaper than the price I found them at on Play / Amazon / Game

See what they come back with but right now cheapest I've seen for Fire Emblem is £30 from Tesco with their code

Lewie does also have a good list up on the Nintendo games offer thing

I've got Lewie's site in my favourites but Fire Emblem was the first game that came to mind to try out flubit.

I'd rather buy through Lewie I think so that he makes a bit of commission, He deserves it the little blighter!

My offer came through for Fire Emblem. £32.86 on ShopTo... £27.90 on Flubit.

I'm tempted!

Care to exand on that with some facts Lewie, or is this just sour grapes about a competitor?

Pointing them at the best price elsewhere seems like an overengineered solution. A likely more successful mechanic would be to say - "I want this and this is my top price" and see if they can source it at that price. There's no comittment on their part, so you'd gain nothing by being ridiculous on your offers as non-commercial pricing could just be rejected, but they also run the possibility of making extra if you offer more than they can acheive,

That does seem to be the amount they are knocking off stuff , as I said the best price I've seen is the Tesco offer with their code for £30 so even that's still being beaten by a few quid

*I* have not used them yet , but plenty of people are posting that they have and with no issues on other sites.

I would have thought that the fact that it was a ridiculous claim would have made it obvious that it was just sour grapes about a competitor.

Will they beat their offer if you send it back to them?

You dont have a URL to cut n paste back into their page to get them to do that

I also want to know what happens if you manage to put in a misprice or something that they cannot beat (will they just say no?)

Also from Lewie's points above I could see this being a problem for sites like his as you simply take the low Savygamer price and bung it into Flubit and they beat it by a quid or two and then they get the commission and Savygamer gets nothing.

Lewie will be happy

From Wednesday 7th August instead of being able to demand by copying and pasting the product page URL from any UK website, we’ll be asking you to do so by using products listed on Amazon.co.uk.

So basically unless Amazon is the cheapest theres no point in using them
