Skipped this one to watch the new Top Gear.

Sounds like I made the right decision going by the comments on the BBC.

I wish there could be a way for neither of these sides to go through to the semi final.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting a repeat of the Holland vs Russia game but this is painful.

Hopefully it goes to penalties, should get at least a little excitement from that.

Even then it wasn't that dramatic. Though probably because my brain was too numb by that point.

rubbish game. I don't understand what is so great about spain that every pundit raves about. Italy with Pirlo, Gattuso and Cannavaro are on another level.

For me the weird thing is that either Russia or Spain will be in the final. Curious to see if Spain steamrolls russia again

I hope not.

I'd quite like to see a Russia vs Turkey final.

Does anyone else thinks that Germany's coaches are a gay couple?

Call me conspiracy-theorist but i think they're always the most helped team by the referees. I will never forget how Portugal was put aside from WC98. Yes, no one would imagine a world cup without germany.

Good Lord, Turkey were hellishly unlucky. They totally outplayed the Germans despite essentially being "Turkey B".

Certainly well deserved and a well-taken goal from Torres.

Indeed. Well deserved, and they have not been beaten in AGES!

Someone on another board I frequent mentioned that after Greece won the last Euros, many teams realised you could win playing dour, unattractive football that tries to stifle the game and score off a set piece or similar.

Hopefully this tournament will make many realise that you can play attacking, flowing 'one-touch' football and be a success.

Well, if you have awesome players anyway.

Great. Scolari can now eat his own pile of excuses of the Portugal team not having enough height to beat the Germans. I haven't seen the statistics, but the Spanish team seem quite shorter than the Portuguese (and shorter than every other in the tournament).
