Forgot to say - it blew up after a week in service and I had to send it back for a refund.
Ah well :)

I can't believe this topic is still tea-related after 4 pages. Talk about focus.

My QuickCup has been largely fine since I bought it in December. It got a bit flaky recently and would was very temperamental; a wire had come loose somewhere, but it's fixed now.

Cool little gadget, but I hardly use it. I don't drink hot drinks apart from Hot Chocolate in the winter months. It gets plenty of use by other people, though, judging by the thousands of cups & mugs I loaded into the dishwasher last night.

Our kettle broke yesterday, and we're in the market for a new one.

Should we get one of those quick cup thingies, or a more sensible, conventional kettle.

A QuickCup. Normal kettles aren't more sensible at all!

They are, however, half the price.

But use far more energy and time for about 10% of the enjoyment factor!

The Future Mrs Curiosity wants to know if the water comes out hot enough.

The cup started at room ambient in both cases, in my test above.

Just about, yes. But if she has a tendency (like some people) to slosh about half a pint of milk in, then it's going to be a bit tepid.
