To be fair, "Going on Big Brother" is an action and one you can at least make some judgement upon.

My good friend Lisa knows the blonde one (er, the scouse one, in case there are more blondies) in real life. I asked if she was alright normally.

"Oh, God, no. She's an absolute tit."

PS - Everyone stop saying 'slag'. Blimey! 8)

PPS - Hating Jade Goody is a bit like shaking your fist at one of the chairs in McDonalds because you hate consumerism.

*laughs* That's just my general BB comment, much as a good general comment in regard to The Daily Mail is "They oughta hang the bastards." I am delighted that apparently everyone else is saying slag, I had no idea :DD

Yeah, man. Two pages in and you're knee-deep in casual misogyny. ;)

Unfortunately, people do. I hear it quite a bit, even from men I thought wouldn't be so crass and tedious, when they're with some of their other friends. It makes me cringe, and not out of prudishness.

It is, however, quite handy when you're out and talking to a girl you like, as you can use them to imply contrast - "Come on, let's get away from these idiots."

I got that tip from a men behaving badly book, y'know. Surprisingly insightful, that bit, although it doesn't apply fully when most of your friends are women ("You love your mates. But they are, let's face it, a bunch of loud, uncouth, irritating, drunken wankers.")

I dislike casual misogyny. Objectifying women who choose to appear on television or in a magazine or whatever is one thing, but to do it in public is very much another. Frankly, if I heard someone say they were going to "score some pussy" or whatever, I'd be hard pressed not to laugh at them, then go away and talk to someone less of a pillock.

Maybe not everyone who does talk like that is a pillock or whatever, but I do find it unpleasant.

I find your gender stereotyping of women as being the only victims of mysogyny highly offensive.

Er, they are. It refers to the hatred of women.

Hatred's a strong word, though. I'm more referring to casual patronising. Although 'slag' is just hateful and reductive no matter who it's aimed at.

I dislike it the other way round as well, but this thread has been talking about anti-female sexism.

I've encountered less women who will objectify to quite the extent men do, though. That could just be my experience though.

And yes, I know you were at least partly joking, but I thought I'd clarify my point anyway.

Edit - Also, what Klatrymadon said.

Also, thinking about it further - the general intelligence of people on this board seems (to me, at least) to be above the 'average' I'd expect to find. There aren't really any 'stupid' people on here, especially as far as schooling or debate goes (although I'd be willing to bet I'm in the bottom ten for exam results). Maybe to some people the twins seemed 'fun' rather than 'piss irritating'.

To me the twins looked like fun if you could add in a prop:

Oh, dear lord!

misogyny, misandry, miswhatever, you know what I mean :(

Derek - I've accumulated a decade's experience in matriarchal working environments and if I had responded in the face of misandry I'd have either been gotten rid of, or I'd be sat in a room by myself with one bloke sat up the other end of the office wondering where all the other staff have gone. Next time you ask a colleague to do something you can't and they say they'll do it because they 'are a woman' and 'can multi-task' (with a sneery smile to go with), punch them in the tits.

As for slag...

Sounds like fair use in the context of most BB contestants. In fact, most people these days. Infact, why is it an offensive term at all?

I trust no dictionary when it comes to slang, least of all one that can be edited by any passing american*.

*Americans are, by and large, lovely. However, they are crap at slang.

Goatboy - two wrongs don't make a right.

Also, yes, the people on Big Brother may be "slags". That doesn't make every young person, or whichever gender, that.

Haven't really caught too much of this series so far.

Pity they failed the task, as I was hoping for Rebecca to be the first to go. I can't believe someone so cretinous is entrusted to look after children for a living.

Reckon Stephanie will be the first for the chop as she acted like a spoiled brat all through the task.

You can get a 10 minute freeview on channel 99 (I think it is) at 11pm.

But, for me, that's eight and a half minutes wasted.

Sadly, the video misses out the bit where charming ladies' man Dale tells Rebecca to "get your snatch out and get in the pool".

I don't watch big brother, and I hate it that this thread exists, however the promise of boobs made me click the link. I seriously thought that chick was a man. She had a very manly figure and the boobs almost look incongruent. Shudder.

I got about nine seconds into that before thinking that if I saw those people as I came into a new pub, I'd leave pretty much immediately. Ten a penny cretwits.

I think she's great.

She totally loses the plot over the most trivial matter, is a total hypocrite who can't stand people talking to her the way she talks to them, makes thinly veiled threatening remarks then inanely repeats them when people ask her to clarify what she is on about and generally spends her day alienating herself from everyone else.

Great viewing.

I'm just concerned that she may start to tone it down now to avoid being nominated/kicked out.
