If they did I would imagine it would be more of a waddle.

Nah, rubbish, that's still hopping. Can it, like, waddle along on its back legs?

Surely a kangeroo's hops ARE its walk? As in: It's walking gait is just very bouncy?

They probably can waddle, but it might mean having to break one of their legs first so that they're forced to distribute their weight unevenly as they move.

I think that video proves conclusively that kangaroos are unable to make jam.

Also proves that their fights are better to watch than anything Ricky Hatton has managed in recent years.

For some reason I pictured kangaroos in my head just now as having much shorter back legs than that. I think the truth had been obscured from my minds eye by too many cartoons. At least I was right with my waddle!

I once showed an ex girlfriend of mine a picture I drew of a chicken with four legs. She couldn't work out what was wrong with it.

FFHIRI, Answer is yes, but they don't beat [off] around the bush.

Answer to the real question is yes, do they not waddle when they walk?

EDIT: I have just read the thread now. Whale, Thames, Glasscock, I was right :D

According to the documentary about kangaroos on CBBC this morning, the only time they move their hind legs independently is when swimming.

Ahh, CBBC documentaries. Like the Discovery Channel light, on slimming tablets. I caught a couple of episodes of Newsround when I was off work a while back. They put annoying little factiods across the bottom of the screen in a news ticker kind of way, but they say thing like "butterflies have very delicate wings" and "Alan Shearer used to play for England". I am sure it wasn't like that in John Cravens day.

I say documentary but it was more of a 20 minute factoid things with the continuity presenters being dicks in costumes over decent footage of the kangaroos

Well they obviously got it wrong. They also move them independently when fighting so that means a lot of children are now misinformed.

Scandalous!
