Tonsils out as an adult is horrid horrid. I had them out about 6 years back when they thought I had lymphoma. I didn't, but they hacked them out anyway. A month of horrific pain and not being able to eat anything except soup and noodles.

How often do you get tonsillitis? I used to get it 2-3 times a year; was very annoying.

They scanned my head and found the root cause was my sinuses being permanently blocked, causing infected gloop to drop on to said tonsils all the time. So I had my sinuses cut open via operation, and am better now.

Still get it once a year, perhaps, due to the fact that my tonsils have largely disintegrated, but it has massively improved my respitory system in general; even reduced my hayfever!

I had mine out as an adult and don't remember having anything like that level of problems afterwards. It's possible that you're just cursed.
