It was First Born's birthday today. We had a lovely, lovely day - awesome funtimes with 10 of his mates at Go Bananas (I got to go on the death slide loads) and then lots of playing at home with his presents.

The day started quite amusingly with the kids having their vitamin tablets. Second Born complained "ooooh, I don't like these, they're horrible". Response was "just swallow it, Sam, it's good for you and tastes fine". A minute later he says in a quite clear stage voice "ooh, I need a wee. I'm off to the toilet now" *pitter patter of feet* "I'm in the toilet, ooh, I'm just doing a wee and absolutely nothing else. Wee wee wee wee. Oh, daddy sneezed, that's what that noise was... Washing my hands now, all done!"

Ruth went in to check and the cheeky boy had spat his tablet out into the toilet.

Brilliant proto-evil genius work, there.

In a similar vein, the other night I gave them their baths and accidentally put First Born's PJs on Second Born. Second Born walks off downstairs, and then runs right back up and says, very irately, "you've lived in this house for ages Daddy and you still don't know which are my clothes! That makes me so cross!".

He's only 4!

Can't remember if MaliA has a venue yet, but if he's going off the idea of the Star Wars wedding may I suggest he decamps to Texas?

Live it up like JR and Sue Ellen, push relatives into the pool, be a top business bastard who drives your wife to alcoholism and ultimately get her locked up in an asylum. Live the dream!

With me, everyone ends up under a bus. Metaphorical or literal. I am a vengeful god. Then, after about thirteen years, I forget it all, and want to be friends again. In certain cases.

It was looking so awesome until I got to this bit:

Quote:
Security is mandatory whenever alcoholic beverages are served at your event. Fees are $40 per officer per hour, with at least one officer required per 300 people. Additional officers may be required depending upon the complexity of your event. Officers must be present at least 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after your event, and have a fourhour minimum. All security must be contracted through Southfork.

That's $160 if you want to toast the happy couple. The South sucks.

One per 300 people? Jesus.

Also, inexplicably, MrsA has vetoed the "2 cool" entrance music for anything.

For my wedding, I want the chorus to the 'Laughing Policeman'. I also want it played at my funeral. Just feels right.

The council has turned off every other (and sometimes more) street light in my area. In fact, all the street lights are turned off in the side streets including mine. It's seriously creepy.

Way more than oi.

I hadn't even heard of bogwoppit until First Born got the stories as a Christmas present. This year.

On the other hand, they already understand why The Wheel Of Time needs nuking from space. As do I.

There's a really nice coffee shop about a half-mile up the road from me that has a sign out the front that just says "WE HAVE CAKE". I admire their strategy. I think they're marketing directly to me.

The last panel fails to take into account that shit got tedious about five days after the game came out, not five years.
