Yup. So if you drop your dice, better hope you're pretty flexible! There's a whole bunch of these rules, one of them is '+1 to wounds if you have a bigger beard than your opponent'

They're designed for fun, something silly to add to the game once you and your mates have had a few drinks. They're entirely optional, but I can assure you that staring at your opponent and intoning "WAR" at them in a deadly-serious voice as you roll the dice is hilarious.

Download the rules and have a look! It's a brilliant skirmish game that you can scale up as much as you want.

No idea what it's made of, I seriously hope it's been treated to withstand the horrid rains of Rottingham otherwise by December it'll be a mess and a half. Ever visited Warhammer World? it got rebuilt and reopened a couple of months ago, it's pretty cool now.

Yeah, there's some cross people out there. I picked up my Age of Sigmar box at the weekend and I like it (I'm going to paint my Relictor like Papa Shango!), but then I was never into Fantasy especially. I get why it's pissed off a lot of people but (obviously) I hope a lot of people like it.

I've been working on a 20mm (1/72 for aero modellers) scale modern warfare set up to play with the boys. I've painted 20 or so modern Russian soldiers - 20mm is so much bloody smaller than the regular 28mm-plus scale GW stuff - fiddly little bastards. I'll post some pictures this weekend. I'm halfway through making some T-90 tanks, then I've got an Apache, a Hind, three Abrams, an M2 Bradley, two BMP-1s, a pair of Humvees and about 10 US soldiers to do... then some HO scale Western German buildings and a 4x4 foot terrain board to build. I'm also ordering some Russian Gaz jeep things. fun fun fun...

The WH40k Titans and knights cost more than a 3D Printer itself!

I know up close there's not the same detail but that's surely only a matter of time.

I'd like a 3D printer, but realistically what I want is a 3D printing service, where I send them the files and they send me a "thing".

Well one of the sites listed on there has example of BB-8s and that snowman thing from Frozen. Would be interesting to see where these companies draw the line - giant sex toys? 3D swastikas?

Are you saying that you want a 3D-printed version of you and Julia or that you're both giant sex toys?

Sort of but once you get into it you realise that there are limitations to what you can actually do vs injection molding. e.g. 3D printers cannot print onto thin air so you end up having to tell the slicer software to print supports but then removing these always leaves a mark. You can mitigate it by printing in multiple pieces or placing the model on the bed so as to minimise the number of supports needed but there are things they do really well and others that they just don't.

I have built the Grimlet up with HeroQuest, Space Hulk and Star Wars X-Wing, and I think he's nearly ready.

If it's just lots of the little plastic space marine guys then I'd doubt that it would be worth getting them made vs just buying them but if there's something in particular I can have a look. Have you seen something on Thingiverse or somewhere?
