When I was a kid I lived in Coalville which was a stones throw from Ashby De La Zouch where Ashby Computers & Graphics Ltd was based. It was based on a roundabout next to the leisure centre and, I think, it’s a hat shop for weddings, or some such, now. I remember going in as a youth with my dad and buying speccy games and picking up the large cardboard boxes that housed the games with that weird black felt stuff they were wrapped in. Good times. I can’t remember of the folks who worked there, just that it was a spacious white office/shop where they sold their games. |

This reminds me of the first local dedicated computer games shop that I remember visiting. It was called Sell-A-Tape and what I remember most is them having dozens of cheap copies of Valhalla that they couldn't shift. |
