Just so I'm clear: it's ok for you to sit in judgement and call SalmonFace out on being a dick, but it's not OK for him to do the same thing to AE? Right?

I'm particularly pissed off that no-one has *ever* asked to borrow my PS3 Ridge Racer 7 disc.

Pfft. :D

Just to address the couple of points raised since my last post:

DocG - I don't think anyone has a 'right' to borrow anything off anyone else and nor did I say I felt that to be the case. Me and myp aren't on each other's christmas card lists, I knew that already, but I didn't think the level of antipathy was such that we'd end up with a schoolyard-esque 'you can't play with my stuff' stance.

(I mean, just to be clear here, my crime is posting stuff he doesn't like on the forums, I've not accidentally slept with his missus or something? I have my opinion about myp and his overall 'forum presence' if you will (same as he obviously does about me), but then again everyone likes their videogames here, it is supposed to be the one common interest. If the boot were on the other foot I'd be perfectly happy to pop a game of mine into a jiffy bag and post it off to myp. I might think to myself 'the guy's a bit of a cock' but it's not a deal-breaker in my book.)

As for myp's comments and follow up comments, despite having me on ignore he's managed to find the time to:

1) Indicate he'd like one of his shits dropped through my letterbox.
2) Chucked in a reference to the double child murderer Ian Huntley.
3) Referred to me as being 'as thick as pigshit'.
4) Accused me of being a 'parody of myself' (whatever that means).
5) When the thread went off in a more light-hearted direction, managed to chuck in another barbed comment aimed at me with regards to borrowing stuff.

That's just disproportionately nasty behaviour. He didn't have to post anything at all, I'd already assumed the answer was 'no' because he replied to Grim... but ignored my question (I didn't realise he actually had me on ignore but the effect was the same). I was fine with that, his choice I thought, just leave it there, job done.

But no, it was worth him taking the time out of his day to make what is really quite an unpleasant and personally abusive post, far in excess of anything I've ever directed at him, and completely out of the blue at that. An Ian Huntley reference, really?

The whole point of the ignore function is to allow people to 'blank out' someone they want fuck all to do with, (and it appeared to be working perfeclty well in that regard in this very thread), so specifically popping up to unload with 'I've got you on ignore BUT I will just say that I'd like to have my turds dropped through your letterbox, your presence here is about as welcome as Ian Huntley's, and you're as thick as pigshit' is a startlingly personal, nasty, and unpleasant response.

Inferior in every way. Why would anyone want to borrow that when I've got the best version doing the rounds?

I just like the idea of sharing one of my favourite games of all time with people who share the interest in games but who've never experienced it.

That's got nothing to do with that oop there, by the way. I wouldn't have lent it on either (to someone I disliked) but I'd rather the forum remain excellent.
