Oh well, looks like this isn't going to take off after all. Thanks for making the effort, Zaphod.

I wouldn't write it off yet. It might be better with a dedicated thread. I have faith that Zaphod can make this work... and I'm hoping that I can do the same with my GP2x Wiz. I turned it on at lunch time and it wouldn't load. :(

Its still a bit early - what I will do is see if anyone else posts in this - and put together a separate thread for nominations and see just how many people will post suggested games.

I did have a separate idea before the request for a MAME challenge came along which would be easier to get people involved in but doesnt have the ipad / icade link.

The idea was to play Spectrum conversions of classic arcade games - so any speccy game could be nominated as long as it was a conversion of an arcade machine (a real conversion not just a 'sound alike') and since its speccy you could play it in your web browser (downloading and installing files has previously been a stumbling block for some people) - also lets you consider how people took state of the art arcade machines worth thousands of pounds and made the games work on a 48k rubber keyed machine using only the colours yellow and black.

Great idea! There's also http://www.snesbox.com which could come in handy for future challenges?
