I saw supergrass at Oxford City Hall in December. Good they were.

I saw Supergrass supported by Bluetones about 12 years ago. It was cracking.

I noticed that too. It's probably pretty hard on his voice (hence the short set), but I found it a bit annoying too. I really, really, really wanted to enjoy it, so maybe I was guilty of expecting too much - but it did fall flat.

Sweet, I like the Bluetones quite a lot. Annoyingly, most of the crowd near us either didn't know who Supergrass were or thought they had split up ages ago. And didn't appreciate 'this is a call' during the main set at all >:|

I saw Supergrass at Reading 2003 - they were awesome. I haven't seen Foo Fighters, and have had no real desire to since c1997.

I saw Supergrass at a V festival in the nineties. Also their forerunner group The Jennifers once and got a signed demo tape for being one of the first ten people into The Venue for their gig. Wish I knew where it was now.

And I bet my On A Friday (what Radiohead were called before Radiohead) promo stuff would be worth a ton of money now, too.

I think he genuinely forgets the words sometimes - he's reportedly got fans up on stage before because he couldn't remember the lyrics to the next song.

I think the Foos peaked years ago as a band (though as individuals they could all do just as well, if not better elsewhere, I think - see Grohl's work with QOTSA, for instance), and I'm still sore over hos shit their last two albums were. But Grohl seems like a genuinely nice and normal bloke, which is pretty rare in a band as succesful as his.

Indeed it was. That may not sound like much, but you could get a pint for £1.20 back then. Inflation, eh?

Sometimes, but not always. Unless he has really bad short term memory.

Foo Fighters = WiLDHEARTS for proles and iPod owning, Starbucks lurking shitbags.

FFS after two very successful albums the Wildies signed for Mushroom and just before they were due to go in the studio the first Foos album came out. The WH were told to 'do something different' otherwise they'd not be able to break America because they 'sounded like the Foo Fighters'.

I like Dave, he's a nice bloke, but his band suck compared to The WiLDHEARTS.

My friend has met her girlfriend, and they got along extraordinarily well, and did things that I'm not going to talk about here or I'll get very distracted indeed!

Hurrah!

Her mum's found out and kicked her out for being a lesbian.

Bah!

Remember everyone, fall in TRU LUV, get married and bang out sprogs. It'll all work out fine because love automatically solves all problems, ever.

Can't. She's coming here today, but can only stay for a couple of days. We did have a spare flat, but my housemates, in their infinite wisdom, gave it to someone else a few days ago without telling me. I'm putting her up here and looking for a flat and job for her over the weekend, though. I'd offer to let her stay until she can get on her feet, but my housemates aren't happy with that. I'm not going to kick her out until she has somewhere to go, though. Fuck that.

Or his work with Killing Joke, or the Probot album. The first two Foos albums are good, but they've long since become the Hootie & The Blowfish It's Okay To Like. For some reason. Also, I don't care if Dave is nice. James Blunt is supposedly charming, but I'd still piss in his mouth if he tried singing one of his offensively shit ballads at me.

This means that you would pay for a front row seat at one of his concerts.

But James Blunt is a shit musician as well. YOWRE bwaaowddifuuwal! Yow Bwaaudifuwwl! YOW BWAUDIFAULL AEHHS TRue!

AAARH DIE DIE MOPHAIRED TWAT.

To be honest, I only really forgive the foos more than I would most bands because they're the first band I started listening to, and so were kind of a gateway to other, better bands. And those first 2.3 albums really are lovely to go back and listen to again occasionally.

The Foo Fighters should stop releasing albums and just release singles.

Their 'Best Of...' would be fantastic, but a whole lot of their albums tracks are poo-poo.

Hmm, there was no rarrrring that I recall and the Foo's set alone was 2hrs 15mins, they came on early too. He integrated all the old and newer stuff nicely and did lots of instumental stuff which I quite enjoyed too. He's a funny guy up on stage, I mean that in a good way, he had the stadium laughing. And, there was a triangle solo. :D

Most expensive gig I've ever been to, possibly not the best, but I felt I got my money's worth for sure. Both the band and us on the pitch seemed to enjoy ourselves immensly, so 10/10 for that. :)
