I would, but the Mrs is back from her hols on Friday, so me spending all weekend on a game probably wont go down too well!

How is it though? Any good?

Its pretty nifty, some nice things in there. More Guild Warsy than the average MMO.

Code still available, BTW. Its a good 12 gig download as well.

If nobody with a lot more time than me has taken it by Friday, then I'll happily take it off your hands then :) I'm sure I can squeeze a couple of hours in over the weekend.

Sorry to hear that. Competition is freaking ruthless. At my last firm, a big midlands firm, the vacation students always seemed to know someone already and, surprise, surprise were always selected as one of the (few) trainees. It always amazed me that even with such a large firm it was who you knew that got you ahead (sometimes).

Still, not long till I submit my application for my own firm. The business plan is killing me at the minute. It's tough going.

I think I might have overdone mountain biking a bit the past few days. Sunday was basically one long 40 minute, 140 metre climb, (followed by twenty minutes returning home) then Monday was two and a half hours thrashing about some woods at a pace somewhat higher than I'm used to. Yesterday was about an hour of riding smooth climbs going up, but boneshaking rocky downhills. When I got home last night I ate far more than I usually do. I might not exercise until Sunday, when, hopefully, if the weather is OK, I'll be doing 23 and a half miles climbing 2,400 feet of the red route at Dalby. A few days off recovery time might be what I need before that.

Why does Britain think it's a special case? Every other EU country (that I bothered to check on Google) has the same licence with the EU flag and country letters on it.

I'm guessing it's part of a long game to move towards Britain being more independent of our Brussels overlords.

And why is it even news? It's being redesigned in 2015 anyway, 2 minutes in Photoshop to put a flag on and it's done. Nobody really cares do they?

They're not talking about a rule change. The article states that EU regs allow for an EU flag and another image to be on the license. It also states that belgian licenses have a picture of a bear.

However, because the article writer is a fucking moron, they've added a mockup picture with the union flag replacing the EU symbol, which isn't what's being suggested at all.

Or he's very clever, and has successfully got people riled because of his deliberate misrepresentation of the facts!

Thing is, people don't want the Union Jack. When you see someone who's paid to have the extra flag on their licence plates, what have they got? The English, Scottish or Welsh flag. Hardly ever see the Union Jack.

Hmm, been talked into using the £4.5k PPI cash very sensibly so no treats/car.

Going to whack it on our mortgage to get the term reduced and shave off some interest.

Yay but so nay. :D :'(

How did you go about getting it? Did you talk to one of those firms that advertises on the TV? Did you need your original loan terms? Question?

I claimed back the 5% consumption tax on a knife bought today. 670 yen back and 'all' I have to do is declare it to customs on the way out, so they can take the receipt out of my passport and make a phone call to verify it.

if I'd known about the hassle beforehand I'd have told them 'fuck that, that's way more than 5 quid of my time.'

I'd probably also have asked if it could wait until I wasnt pissed.

You owe me £12k in commission now.

Good luck! Took about 7 weeks for our Bank to sort out, and they said to expect the cash within the next 21 days.

Don't do it dude, you will never look back and think "i'm glad I put that money into the mortgage", £4.5k on a mortgage will get swallowed and never even noticed, you'll save what? 6 months off the mortgage? You'll most likely be dead from the nuclear fallout and super viruses by then.

Spend it on penny sweets and gorge yourself sick. Or buy everyone on the forum a keyring, or use it to hire Bucks Fizz to come round your house and do a small show, including skirt ripping.
Anything apart from putting it into the mortgage black hole.

It'll never be tidy enough, so just hang some washing up and make some piles of stuff. No point making a huge effort.

Give London and Country a ring about that shizz. I've spoken to them twice about mortgage stuff and both times they have been excellent in their advice. Once when we were nearing the end of a fixed rate deal and again just the other week now it has finished. Both times it turned out that it actually wasn't worth us really doing anything (now our deal has finished we are on a rate lower than any variable deal you can get) but they were still happy to stay on the phone and answer my questions, they just seemed helpful and knowledgeable. They did also advise that we keep the payments the same and pay it off quicker, fuck that though, we'll keep the extra couple of hundred a month I reckon.

Of course the argument now is, your mortgage is so small anyway, why waste the free cash putting it in. Sure it'll make a big difference percentage wise, but you only pay out a pittance anyway, so just leave that going and hire Bucks Fizz.
