So I wrote an uncharacteristically angry email to him, read it several times, felt satisfied with myself and deleted it without sending. When he's ready, I'll be there for him. Until then, fuck him. In the casual disregard sense.

I might have missed it but have you actually explained what went on with him? Or is it still a bit raw or to personal?

More tedious than anything. To be honest, posting about it here has helped put it into perspective, so I don't want to go into details, but when things improve I will not hold it against him: too many good things in our relationship to outweigh this temporary blip.

Quite. You know what really sucks?
Going to a pub that has wifi, buying a pint, and being unable to connect. Even after you ask them to reset the router.

The wifi in 1st class on this train is atrocious, I've had to switch to 3G.

Woke up at around 2 AM the other night and started getting upset again at my friend hiding from me on sinister Facebook. At this rate, I might as well go the whole hog and get some One Direction tickets. My holiday next week can't come any sooner...

Our tele-conference lien is not working, wasted an hour!

Can I stop using the plural forms for 'data' now? Surely the language has evolved enough by now for me to use it as a singular noun. 'The data suggest' just sounds clumsy these days.

I would love a teleconference system that used cuddly toys as loudspeakers. Even more so if their mouths moved in sync with the conversation.

Didn't Graham Norton have one of those?

How'd you hide from someone on Facebook? Has he deleted you as a friend or something?

Not yet. Just not talking. Yes, I know he needs space to think and all that, but from what I've been able to get out of him it was all down to some advice I gave he didn't like, and I'd just feel much better (and respect his silence) if we could clear the air by having a proper argument or at least hear what he disagreed with rather than him just turning off chat (and on Skype too) and only receiving, after much angst, an email saying he just wants space. But, as I say, 1st world problem, and should pass in time.

That sounds optimistic enough; at least he's communicating with you. Here's hoping it blows over quickly for you.

This sounds like some real teenage bullshit. If you'd actually done something to piss him off then fine(-ish), but he didn't like some advice you gave? It's advice, you don't have to agree with it or carry it out; it's just someone else's opinion ffs.

Singular mass noun, to be precise.

We've got two posh bottles of wine that some visitors who should know better gave us the other week.

It'll probably end up in bolognese.

Right, posh was too strong a word*. There's a 2012 Co-op Fairtrade Argentinian white Pinot Grigio and a 2010 Red Burgundy Cuvee Prestige from Maison Francois Martenot which seems to be Waitrose.

Course there's no way for you to get them off me anyway.

* To me anything that isn't supermarket-brand cooking wine is posh.

I left my headphones at home and the spare ones in my bag are missing an ear bud, so I'm having to wait until I can grab my spare spare ones in my office to watch Galactica.

CTRL+Tab (or what DavPaz said if you meant "sheets" and not "worksheets").
