Does it change again? If not, you probably did it while it was broken, then I fixed and wiped it, then you did it again.

Yeah. It should stay the same.

Unless you're super-special, or something.

Miss Malabar is planning on bringing two whole legs of lamb, our assigned foods, and cakes. Fucksake. I think I’ll just get wasted and miss the food like last time.

I am coming sans wife and child (probably), so will have to make my food thing myself. This could be a quite glorious failure.

I'm bringing sausages! :D

(Er, I'll also take the liberty of bringing crushed ice, fruit juices, lots of Smirnoff Blue vodka or similar, Pimms, fruit, lemonade and other mixers, gold tequila, a bag full of limes, Cointreau, cocktail shaker, champagne, cocktail salt... :D )

You gotta try a Margarita mate - a *real* one. Utter filth IMO, let's hope we have sun... yet utterly lethal. :)

I've got a fridge that makes that for you, so we should be fine for that.

But that reminds me!

SCIENCE/ENGINEERING-TYPES!

I've got an upright fridge-freezer like this one, but with no shelves in the freezer bit.

Image

How can I go about making loads of fucking ice to throw into the paddling pool to keep our beer cold? I was thinking I should make ice "bricks" and turn the fridge as cold as it will go and then put the completed bricks into the fridge, but how would I make the thing to hold the bricks in shape until they froze?

And is the freezer likely to collapse under the weight?

Get those ice cube bags and add a layer a day. From today?

EDIT: use those sandwhich bags with a plastic clsoing thing on them, that is like a zip, and fill with water. Do a layer a day or soemthing.

Just fill lunchboxes or similar to 7/8ths full of cold water mate (ice expands obv.), leaving the tops off, and freeze solid?
I seriously doubt there would be a weight issue, as the freezer will have been engineered to take the weight from being stuffed full of frozen meat etc., having a similar density?

Mind you, all that water/latent heat demand could initially partially defrost, or at least raise the internal freezer temp to well above -18 deg C deep freeze, so I dunno, I wouldn't have too much perishable food in there when you did this?

Freezer bags full of water? Won't be brick shaped, mind. Might just be cheaper to buy some of those large bags of ice you buy in supermarkets for £1

That was the plan last year. We bought all of them.

Also, put the paddling pool in the freezer first, then you just drag it out on the day.

Yeah, that was my plan - use an empty (rectangular, obv) ice cream box, or something, and then take the brick out once it's frozen and do some more.

Nah, it's the drink fridge in the garage. I'll only do a few at a time, anyway.

It's the weekend after we get back from Japan. I fully expect we'll still be far too knackered and not-caught-up. Also my head's not right enough yet.

If there is no vodka luge at the beexbeetwo, I shall be disappointed.

Depending on what we can get hold of, and how precious people are about broken or best before dates on chocolate, then the contents of Hotel Chocolate may make an appearance.

Okay, that downloads a scary-looking attachment, but just add .jpg to the end and it turns into an image.

Seeing as I've now resigned as manager of the baseball team, we may be able to come to this. Is it a problem waiting until the last minute before signing up using the site, or will all the stuff be already accounted for?

No, the site 'restocks' itself if everything is taken.

Why have you resigned?

When I worked for Barrysworld, we had a launch party, they had 2 frozen vodka statues, one naked male and one naked female.

It didn't take long for people to be sucking directly on the statue!

Depends on the proof, but -30degC should do it.

I suspect Malc meant freezing ice to pour vodka through, though.
I already have an idea of how to do it.

No, I'm going to drill a diagonal route through each brick and counter-sink it at the top where the exit of the brick above meets the entrance of the brick below*, if you see what I mean, and then stack them all on top of each other for the vodka to run through.
I think I'm going to run two channels in each one, actually, one for vodka and one for orange juice or something, that get mixed halfway down.

The only thing I'm trying to figure out is how to make sure they stay on top of each other. In cold places they weld them with water, but I don't think that will work with a high outer temperature. I'm thinking about maybe keying them somehow, like lego bricks (but much simpler - two ridges and two slots at right-angles should do it).

Fuck you, Trooper, you dick.

* That sounds rude

You should have multiple channels in each brick, which lead to multiple exits.

I though about splitting the stream, as it were, so two people could drink at once, but I figure all that will happen is you'll get a huge bias in one direction.

I doubt it would have time, especially if it mixed with the vodka early enough. I plan to experiment.

Aww maaan, I want to come just for vodka ice thing. Stupid Ramsea, the jobless fucking cunt.

We left a couple of bottles of Absolut out on the balcony in the Alps, it didn't freeze completely but it got part way there... I think just the water froze, leaving behind thick, freezing cold, concentrated alcohol. It was amazing.
