Wow, there really was a version of Sensi with grenades!

(I was making out that Cannon Fodder was Sensi-with-grenades.)

I was 50/50 over whether you were making a joke or not. Bulldog Blighty is not well known.

There was also Cannon Soccer too. Which was more cannon fodder, but with footballers, if I remember correctly.

Cannon Fodder set on a football pitch, yep.

They also did a version of Sensi that had apples and oranges instead of players if I remember, and I'm fairly sure that that had some sort of explosive in it.

Pretty sure you're mixing them up. Bulldog Blighty had a grenade for a football which killed any places near it if it went off.

Surprised Cras hasn't played it

Quite probably.

I had a short blast on Sensible Trainspotting the other day, was surprisingly therapeutic until it started getting manic.

That would be Unsensiblee Soccer. I don't think it had grenades. Although I doubt I'd know even if it did.

I received this today which is a brand new pad for the N64 which I backed yonks ago. It looks pretty good and has been reviewed very well so far. It only cost me $20 plus postage which is pretty good I reckon. I'll give it a good go later on and let you know what I think.

Where have they put the trigger?

Post subject:  Re: Kickstarter

The Z trigger is in the LT and RT position. They've put it on there twice.

Post subject:  Re: Kickstarter

Sweet. It might take a fair bit of muscle memory override, but being able to reach all the controls at once should be quite nice.

Although, did any N64 games use all of the controls?

Author:  TheVision [ Tue Mar 20, 2018 13:07 ]
Post subject:  Re: Kickstarter

Nope. Because of the way the original pad was designed, you couldn't reach the L button while using the analogue stick.

Post subject:  Re: Kickstarter

Wasn't it designed to be used specifically in two different ways? Left prong and middle prong or left prong and right prong.

It was indeed. That's why you'll never get a game that uses the Z button and L button.

Post subject:  Re: Kickstarter

I've just had a go with it and I like it.

It might take a bit of getting used to but it's a solid pad. The analogue stick is great and much stiffer than the original but it's weird playing an FPS like Goldeneye with only one analogue stick.

There is an issue with the analogue stick and the L button though as if they're both pressed together, you can feel the inner sleeve of the analogue stick rub against the lower half of the L button. Apparently there's a fix for this coming which would either be a replacement pad or if you're competent at taking things apart, a replacement button. I've gone for the button.

Yes.

It does not clean the teeth very well at all.

Well, in the past 20 minutes I've learnt more about electric toothbrushes than I thought I would ever know. That's a rabbit hole I never expected to fall into.
I've come away with the conclusion that the one I have is totally fine, which is good to know.

Everyone I expect, I knew how qi was pronounced, but never linked that to qi chargers for some reason.

So I'm putting it in both. Sounds like an amazing game for the Cottage!

I find myself underwhelmed by The Oatmeal games. Exploding Kittens was pretty great, Bears Vs Babies is pretty terrible and there's that one with something about a lobster. The artwork is most of the appeal and I'm not convinced they're great at game mechanics.

Exploding Kittens is merely good. We don’t seem to ever play it for all that long which is a sign it’s probably not amazing.

I liked EK, it's got a good "I'm going to fuck up GazChap, ahaha he's fucked, oh no, he fucked me back!" vibe. I've not tried Bears and Babies.

I don't think it's a game that's meant to be played for a long time. After a couple of rounds I've had enough.

I love Bears Vs Babies though. Probably because you can give the 'bears' characters and that can get quite tactical too.
