Thinking of ducks... was out hiking a few months ago and we'd stopped by a stream for lunch. Some ducks were milling around, having rampant duck sex or whatever it is that ducks like to do to each other. A friend pointed out to me that if you look at mallard's beak closely, you can clearly see that it's actually a dog in disguise. After a few moments, I saw what he meant, and couldn't unsee.

'You've ruined ducks for me forever!' I yelled, as he laughed at me for my credulity. Still seeing the hidden dogs though.

Today's task is a special XBONE special to celebrate the special release date tonight of the special XBONE special. Special.

So, your task today:

Take a picture of something, anything, that best represents your special memories of the Xbox. It can be as abstract as you like, be related to a special xbox game you like, played or slept with in your bed, it can be a picture, a momento or a picture of the feeling on your face when you got that first cheevo. The more abstract it is, the more likely you'll have to explain what the hell we're supposed to be gleaming from your picture.

Entries are finalised at 12PM when the XBONE is released.

The winner will be the best picture. Natch. Or, if no one can be bothered the winner is Grim... by default cause he's lovely.

I haven't got a picture but my favourite memory of Xbox is the £75 worth of points I've just had emailed my Microsoft as a way of an apology.

Neither.

Maybe I shouldn't of made this week my first....

A picture of a tube of daktacort for a 'red ring' would have totally won, by the way.

Which is basically when i realized that i didnt care that the hardware was shonky - I was going to buy another one anyway because i did not want to wait even 2 weeks without one while Microsoft repaired it

I took this picture one week after I'd come back from my honeymoon. Unfortunately, while I was on honeymoon I had been made redundant from my job.



So what was I to do? No job, no Xbox but a new wife. The choice was simple. I ordered an Xbox Slim the same day.

Luckily I'd taken part in Stu's "points mean prizes" roulette scam so the new Xbox cost me nothing.

That's a very special memory for this console generation... but not quite as special as this...
