What?! Placky num num fail. The heavily Photoshopped pic makes her look less fake than she does on IACGMOOH, but still. Much more attractive when she was in proportion.

Yeah, her breasts are wider than her shoulders - that's just odd. It's strange to find breasts unattractive, but those are.

My bro works for lego. Standard staff discount is 50% ;)

Reselling on those terms is obviously very prohibited/sackable offense.

Vince Cable has been let loose with some crayons and a particularly pristine piece of wallpaper that was employment law. He's decided that it's a great idea to make it easier to get rid of workers, wanting to up unfair dismissal length of service to two years, allow small firms to a escape a tribunal if they pay compensation, allow employers to bollock staff without the worry that what they say could be used in a tribunal they won't have due to the former point, dropping the redundancy consultation period down to a third. But he says that it is all for the best, and y'know, trust him Workers' rights are in no way at all being eroded. GO LIB DEMS!

here's the consultation paper

Surely they can just say the same as with everything else (and I think in this case it's probably true). i.e. That it might be shit but it's not as bad as what the Tories really wanted.

They could, I guess, but IIRC it is what the Tories wanted. And in any event they could have just said "no" to the lot, as it's poorly thought out knee jerk keep the not very bright business lobby happy nonsense. As I said on the EU thread, employment legislation is definitively not the thing holding back the economy.

This plan's also a recipe for industrial unrest at a time when that particular pot's already boiling. The reason why unfair dismissal legislation was brought in was to avoid IR disputes and strikes. If it's watered down too much, it's just handing the unions a great opportunity to propagate their cause and cause trouble.

No, IIRC the original Tory plan was to replace employment tribunals with a birching for anyone who tried to go to one.

I think that most people that voted LibDem last time around now won't; we're set for another couple of terms of the Conservatives in power. At least whilst Milliband is in charge of Labour, and the LibDems continue as they are. As I've said before, they've been well and truly played, and as a result, have set themselves back a good decade or more in terms of credibility.I don't think, either, that the 'look at the good stuff the LibDems have done', Zardoz has covered it quite succinctly.

Maybe not, considering it uses the old grays that are no longer in production*. I bought this set new for £60 back in the day, because LEGO for some reason dumped the prices on this and the TIE Interceptor (which I bought for £30) in Denmark after a couple of months.

*EDIT: Actually you are right, it would still never reach that price.

The price of that really interesting referendum we had on AV was totally worth the massive erosion of the rights of workers.

Actually, MaliA, I think you'll find that the lib Dems want to do more than that. I've found a blog from Jeremy Brown responding to this very point. Here's what he had to say:

Quote:
To illustrate my point, here are ten policy areas that (a) are not about constitutional reform or civil liberties, (b) are being enacted by the government, and crucially, (c) would have been enacted if the Lib Dems were in government alone without any coalition considerations:
1. Urgent deficit reduction
To be fair, this is the stated policy of all three parties, unsurprisingly when the government is still borrowing an extra £400 million every single day.
2. Reducing income tax for low and middle earners
More money for millions of people who need it most and who also value the self-reliance that comes from being properly rewarded for their work.
3. Protecting national security
Terrorist threats at home and abroad, plus major concerns like nuclear weapons proliferation, rightly preoccupy government ministers on a daily basis.
4. Reforming prisons to reduce reoffending
Increasing the focus on in-prison rehabilitation and education as well as post-release crime reduction measures.
5. Making healthcare effective and affordable in the longer-term
Keeping a universal health service which is reformed to accommodate an aging population, new treatments and increasing expectations.
6. A higher state pension
Helping to address pensioner poverty by increasing annually the state pension in line with prices, inflation or 2.5%, whichever is highest.
7. Tackling climate change and benefiting the environment
More adoption of renewable energy and investment at home, plus a leading role in international environmental agreements.
8. Improving social mobility and educational opportunity
A pupil premium to help children from poorer backgrounds and new freedoms for schools to increase standards.
9. Modernising public transport
New investment in intercity rail lines and crossrail to dramatically cut journey times and reduce emissions.
10. 0.7% GDP on international aid
Britain becoming the first G8 nation to meet the target for helping the poorest people in the World.

So, left alone, they'd totally be reducing the deficit, dropping taxes, protecting national security, making prisons better for society as a whole, improving healthcare, increasing the state pension, tackling climate change and educational opportunities, modernising public transport and meeting targets for helping other countries. As you can see, the LibDems would be totally forging their own way ahead with this stuff, it if weren't not for the Conservatives doing it with them. And Labour wanting much of that list as well. You shouldn't feel let down, we're getting the stuff that matters done! We even had 75% of our stuff in the agreement compared to the conservatives 60%. Which totally show's them who is boss, too.

It wouldn't wholly surprise me if Labour won at the next election, to be honest. Regardless of Militede's lack of charisma, he's the only alternative to the Tories. And the Tories are pissing off a lot of their natural voting base as well as everyone else, and so will suffer quite a bit in the next GE. I'll be surprised if the Lib Dems' vote is visible to the naked eye.

If you want to talk about it with other people, you shouldn't have posted it here.

While all of it is nonsense, I was appaled to find out how hard it was to sack someone for "not being very good at their job".

Fuck me £1500 for a lego set Lego xwing

Would be cheaper to order the individual bricks.

I picked it up for about that, but left the TIE interceptor. And didn't get the other three that were in the shop. Lego went through an unpopular period, I think, because most sets were available cheaply. As I got a little richer I started picking up multiple sets - the best was Jango Fett's Slave I for £25, which later went for £150.
