Don't forget that Davidson was once one of the BBCs top presenters, doing Big Break and the Generation Game.

The word 'currently' was important.

Stuart Hall pleads guilty - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-22379286

Quote:
Broadcaster Stuart Hall has admitted 14 charges of indecently assaulting girls as young as nine years old.

Much of the stuff against these celebs hasn't shocked me in that I'd heard all the rumours about Savile etc. But this one really does.

I know there's the Rolf stuff but as far as I'm aware that doesn't involve kids.

Oh, did I mention who Stuart Hall's best mate is?

No. Not even with the picture.

Also: I have no idea who Stuart Hall is. Even with the picture.

Dunno what the point is. Surely technology could take care of it?

They can't draw in court, they just have a few minutes to take notes. But as it's Ken Barlow I don't think that the artist has many excuses for drawing a curious cross of Ken and Bernie Ecclestone.

One fear I've heard is that it might lead to the barristers playing up to the cameras and going for a soundbite on the news rather than playing up to the jury for the whole trial.

If you've never watched a trial at a Crown Court before, it's worth doing. Free theatre, and very educational.

I once did a video shoot for a ceremony at a county court. First person ever allowed to shoot video in the court according to the head judge.

As far as I could make out our ceremony was taking place during a break for a very serious case. I was allowed to shoot from where the defendant stands complete with a door down to the cells. It was an experience!

Everyone was really nice and I got the impression that they were pleased to have something pleasant happening in there.

We did our mock trials in the old court room at Oxford City Hall. it's been used in many tv things.I agree with Chinny that the dock is quite the intimidating place to stand, as it is designed to be. The whole room seems to tower down on you.

Foloiowing on from what Kern said, the magistrates courts are a bit of a giggle, too. Drug dealers, thugs and prostitutes do actually only have a limited set of stock phrases. My personal favorite was ""Go, on! Call the fucking pigs! I'll fucking do them as well, for all the good it'll do you".

If you can hear soundbites in photographs, it might be time to go to the doctor ;)

I have that on DVD which still needs watching.

Also, the guy at my work who spent over £2000 on original Rolf Harris paintings has gone a bit pale.

It does, it's great. The only downer I have on it is that it's a bit angry and right on.

Spot the Blakes 7 costume in the final episode. + think I know one of the dancers in the final sequence with Ritchie.

Mine is that the continuity announcer at the end said they would be 'back in the autumn' or similar and it never returned - I know they went on to do other stuff but I missed seeing them in those characters

I'm also sure a lot of the DVD releases were cut for small things (reading the wikipage its mainly them singing stuff) but it did make for some off jumps at times when you re-watch them now :-(

Anyway - you need to watch them now - and that is of course assuming you are already word for word perfect on Mr Jolly Lives Next Door (which has nothing to do with the topic but so what :-))

People who invest in modern paintings are chumps. You go to one of these art gallerys with new stuff in, the second you take it off the gallery wall it's next to worthless.

Rolfs stuff has value because he has a famous name. If that name turns to shit, it ain't gonna be worth jack.

The later release isn't cut (the one I have). The earlier release is cut to shreds.

Or will be because he's suddenly a 'known' name again (possibly for the wrong reasons but it does mean the name is more known again)

Mrs Chinny has some annoying friends who were banging on about "investing in art" who then buy shit new paintings from a local gallery. Mentioned it to a painting specialist and he said that they might get lucky but most of this stuff is worthless once you take it home. If you want to invest in art you buy something old from an established artist that already has value second hand and then hopefully it will appreciate further.

Well the quote was

Quote:
The indecent images of children were alleged to have been made last year.

Given the way these things seem to go - for all we know he drew some images of people under the age of ? (18?) which were not probably clothed last year , or drew a portrait of someone which was deemed not appropriate ?

Well this is all horribly depressing. Its an indicator that unlike with Saville there's barely any enthusiasm for jokes out there. It's just too crushing. :(

Also: You should only buy paintings if you love them. /purist

Now, not wanting to be dismissive or anything but 14 and 15-16 are not unusual ages and 'last year' means all sorts of horrible recent 'child' pornography law wording including 16-18 year olds whether or not the offender knows, the 'victim' lies to the 'offender', is a willing participant, the instigator or the photographer.

Am I right in thinking that if he'd painted indecent images of children, then that wouldn't be against the law? Kinda ironic, if so.

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by '14 and 15-16 are not unusual ages'?
