What is wrong with it, it comes with two free games on the Vita? I can then buy games on it, but these games aren't bought on PSN. Errr, weird.

It's ok, you can't access the Home app, just the arcade games. They are probably ok.

Home is not.

Persona 4 Golden - I've slotted 24 hours or so into this so far. But then I left it a month or so ago and I haven't been back. I enjoyed it a lot but don't feel any compulsion to return to the routine of it all. I'm only up to the disappearance of the Idol - and I suspect I'm scores of hours away from finishing.

Persona 4 Goldeners - would you recommend finishing it or simply bask in the 20+ surreal and happy hours one has already wrung from it?

Some cheapo Vita games in their ridiculously named Vita on the Move sale.

I picked up a couple of PSP games as I fancied some Harvest Moonage and Mega Manage. I also picked up Sniper Elite 3 for the PS4, which didn't seem too bad at 15.99.

Luckily no one responded to this and told me to leave it alone. I've now 60 hours in and it's proving a wonderful toilet break companion.

Also happened upon Sue Perkins in it. But we won't hold that against it.

Okay, a while back I swa something talking about a PS Vita updated version of Final Fantasy 7 and that it was a nice update, so on so forth. I can't now find that review, but my question is, the FF7 I find on the store is PSone classic version. Is this the same as a vita version. There is also a PSP version somewhere, maybe. I am confused, I want to by the remake not the original.

The only version I know of on the Vita is the PS1 original. They did an enhanced version for the PC I believe. And they're remaking the whole thing for current gen (but it's going to be episodic).

The PS1 titles on Vita are basically the exact same as their PS1 originals - they play well but they are 'old' games

I have quite a few of them and they are fine just dont expect anything beyond what was in the game 20 years ago

Bobbyaro wrote:

The vita has some really good games , however it also has a lot of junk , and the prices for it are a bit crazy - if you get things when they are on sale (or get cross buy games so you have PS4 and Vita) then they can be more reasonable

Probably need a list of good vita games somewhere I'll sort one out and post in a minute but Killzone Mercenaries / Uncharted / Spellunky / Resogun / Freedom Wars / Shovel Knight / are all worth a look.

Left and right on the back pad, or the touchscreen, I forget which. Touchscreen, I think. Back pad is for L/R3, I reckon.

I should have let Zaphod answer shouldn't I. I don't know, something on the front or back. It's a touch thing anyway; touching somewhere on the Vita where you're supposed to touch it. But not in a creepy way. I mean, don't stroke it, just like bang your finger on it. Fingerbang, if you will. No, no, not finger bang. Anyway, I'll let Zaphod clear it up.

Vita games :

AVOID
COD - terrible
Pinball Arcade (very laggy controls)

OKAY (but limited)
Borderlands
Child of Light
Counterspy
Hotline Miami
Injustice
Mortal Kombat
Sonic Racing
Street Fighter X Tekken
Monster Monpiece (I actually liked this but the mechanics / ideas may 'rub' you up the wrong way)

GOOD
Assassins Creed III : Liberation
Dangonrompa (a bit of an aquired taste but I really enjoyed the first one and i'm taking a break before going into number 2)
The Binding of Isaac
Persona golden
Fez (although you may have played this on other devices)
Limbo (although you may have played this on other devices)
Guacamelee! (although you may have played this on other devices)
Freedom Wars (I've not played much of this but it seems good)
Geometry wars
Gravity Rush
Luftrausers (although you may have played this on other devices)
Metal Gear Solid collection (i've only dabbled with this)
OlliOlli
Pix the Cat (although you may have played this on other devices)
Rayman Legends (although you may have played this on other devices)
Rogue Legacy (although you may have played this on other devices)
Shovel Knight (although you may have played this on other devices)
Super Meat Boy (although you may have played this on other devices)
The Swapper (although you may have played this on other devices)
Thomas was alone (although you may have played this on other devices)
Xeodrifter

GREAT
Killzone Mercenaries
Resogun
Tearaway
Uncharted
Spelunky
Super Stardust Delta

This is all stuff i've played on the Vita - if anyone has other suggestions then throw them in - i think Sat liked Kick n Fenix ? , the Rachet and Clank games are also supposed to be quite good

Metacritic list http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/ ... ?sort=desc

Some of these e.g. Velocity 2X or LPB never really clicked for me but you might enjoy

You can actually manually choose the controls you want however default has the top of the rear touchpad as L2 / R2 and bottom as L3 / R3

You can switch this around and also assign the front touchscreen for other controls.

And it sounds like you have played (or would like to play) Monster Monpiece

Did I fuck! It was derisory dogshit and I hated every minute of it up until it crashed for good; then I was happy i'd never have to play it again.

To modify your list, I really enjoyed Xenodrifter and thought Uncharted was good for Vita but still a poor game and Killzone Mercenaries was a load of shit too.

Ah it was Lave that liked it

Quote:
6. Kick and Fennick - Vita - I've said it all over the place, but this is such a surprising delight. A genuinely novel and new 2D platformer. Game of the Year contender. I'll be wittering about this all year. Fantastic. As I said in the PS+ thread, there is something really primal and entertaining about parabolas. Must be evolution getting us to enjoy chucking rocks at mammoths. Or the use of urinals. Or something. But whatever the reason, a 2D platformer based on the recoil from a sniper rifle sending you flying in beautiful parabolas across the map is just superbly enjoyable to play. Binged and completed it over 3 days. Didn't outstay it's welcome, and bar a tiny dip in the middle where there is too much of a focus on timing puzzles, it fires on all cylinders throughout.

Killzone is the closest to a handheld COD game , it looks great - keeps the framerate up and the multiplayer stuff 'works' its an amazing achievement that they got all this running on a handheld , it was one of the first Vita games I got that i spent hours playing even when I had my other console games available.

Uncharted again was an early vita game for me - i've not revisited it recently so it may have aged but it again goes for the console feel.
