Am I Rite when I say that your PS3 will hold onto your game when you need space on your memory card? So if you download a game to your PS3 you can just copy it across to your Vita and when you need Vita-space you can just delete it off the card safe in the knowledge you can move it back on from the PS3 if you fancy it.

Well, you'd need to copy it back to the PS3 if you wanted to retain your save games (although I think the Vita supports cloud-based saving for PS+ users, doesn't it?).

Anything you buy via PSN goes into your Downloads list and can be redownloaded on PS3 or Vita whenever you like.

Downloaded all the games off PS+ on a 16Gb Vita card that cost me £30 from ASDA.

Gravity Rush, Uncharted, Soul Sacrifice demo, Sine Mora, Coconut Madness, some spaceship game and Rayman Origins. Got em all on there with room to spare.

Can I just say that Uncharted, Sine Mora and Rayman Origins in particular really do look the business on it? Yes, yes I can. Rayman looks bloody gorgeous on Vita's sexy screen.

I might have a play with the remote play in a bit to see if I can watch a film in bed.

I'll say this: remote play is pretty bloody impressive. The only thing it can't do is play PS3 games. Shame that but apparently there's somehow you can use the Vita like a tablet.

Tell a lie, you can play some games remotely but not many. Guess what is though: ICO and SOTC! Well, of course they are. Cause they're ace in any sense of the word.

Here's a list of cross-controller, cross-play, cross-buy and Alex-Cross in a new book about the same boring shit. One of these is a lie.

List of stuff

Heh, yeah, I Googled it after my last post and thought you'd be excited to see those on the list.

Erm, not really (I see what you did there though), you use your PS3 as normal on the Vita like a second screen. You can go on the Internet, look at pictures, play music, Netflix, LoveFilm, message, download stuff off the store etc etc and can play SOTC.

Mind you, some of that's pointless with the Vita's functions but, say, I've got my external hard drive with my movies and TV plugged into the PS3 and can access that hard drive from anywhere. The screen quality is lovely.

You should stop playing those hidden object games and play the only game worth playing!

So I've got onto my parents Wi-Fi with the Vita, I've logged into PSN, I've also left my PS3 turned on at home all connected to the Internet, remote settings are on but can I log in remotely?

No.

Do you only get remote control on the same hub?

It's either going to be an issue with one of the two routers involved not forwarding traffic properly or maybe, according to Sony's instructions, because you need to leave the PS3 in 'remote play connection standby mode'.

Apparently it does work so it must be one of those issues. I can "connect via Internet" at home and even turn it on remotely when it's on standby so maybe it's my folks Internet. It's be cool if it'd work anywhere so I could access my hard drive.

I'd probably do it about twice then never do it again.

Probably an issue with your parents' router then; I did a wee bit of Googling around and it seems certain routers don't automatically forward the traffic properly. You can potentially fix it with manual port forwarding and such like but I assume that's a level you don't want to get into.

Amazing things:

1) Put the PS3 on remote when I went out and logged in at my folks this time and it worked! Yay. Played some Tokyo Jungle remotely which was ace.

2) "Discovered" that you don't need a separate PS Vita USB lead cause the USB end is actually the bit that goes into the 'brick'. I thought it was all one thing. Tch.

This is a pretty standard design these days and you'll find it with most hardware that uses USB for charging.

For a moment it confused me, until I remembered that you got it second hand, and so probably already connected. Probably not alone there.

Any idea why remote play won't work for me? I've tried two games which are on the list (Ico and Tokyo Jungle) and they both say this content cannot be used with remote play. Have I done something wrong?

You certainly need to update tokyo jungle to get it to work, not tried ico.

You've got the Vita as a registered device to get that far so that's about all you need to do. I've just tried Tokyo Jungle and it works. Did you use "Connect via Internet"? I do. I couldn't work out the private network one. Maybe try that?

I'm rubbish with tech questions.

Why am I even responding... Oh, here's a picture of Tokyo Jungle. For some reason. Yes, I'm wearing my dressing gown at 9PM. I'm tired, alright? What's with all the questions. I work hard during the day and I've just been on a long walk. JESUS.

I was trying the private network option as it made sense to do so. I'll try the internet one later. :)

If local doesn't work, I'd be astounded if Internet one does.

You have updated everything, yes? Because that's the error I got when I hadn't. And it doesn't prompt to update over remote play.

You can also try a ps1 game if you have any, generally easiest to get working.

Yes, I've tried Silent Hill, so I know that Remote Play works. It's just PS3 games that don't seem to work.

For whatever reason, I just couldn't get private network working at all. The Internet option works like a breeze. It's all to do with the fibre wires and electricity Mr Dave.

Private network is best for at home as it doesn't have to leave your internal network via your ISP and return. I've found it's pretty slow via the internet, but super-whizzy on my home network (which is to be expected).

Shouldn't games automatically update? I've only just downloaded Tokyo Jungle, so will it do that the first time I boot it?

They'll only auto update if you've got that set to on (p's plus exclusive feature) . Otherwise it'll only update when you try to play the game (like on the xbox)

Easy enough to check whether Tokyo jungle is updated too, just run it on theps3 itself.

And if you've loaded the game once. Fresh downloads from the PSN store aren't automatically added to the PS+ update system for some hateful reason.

Woohoo!

Ian: when trying to connect on your home network, you must go to Network, Remote Play before you try connecting using the Vita. Have you tried this?

I'll give it a punt tomorrow. I got playing too much Hotline Miami tonight. Finished it apart from the bonus missions; what an ace little game.

Yes, it really is well suited to the Vita's controls - I tried it on PS3 last night and it was a bit fiddly. It automatically synced my save with the Vita version though, which was nice.

I'm sure you've got it sorted now Myp, but just in case, with anything like this. load it up once on the PS3 itself first - even if you only go as far as the title screen - just to make sure any current updates are downloaded and installed and so that it gets added to PSN+'s auto update thingy. I had to do this for SOTC, Ico and God of War HD.

Not tried Tokyo Jungle yet... might have to give it a try. Hotline Miami has consumed my Vita time now though.

Yup, same deal, but I assume you bought in store :)
That had it online with a £10 off voucher, but stock levels are erratic to say the least :D

Yeah I knew it was a bit cheaper online, but also this was an impulse buy. The games pack seems to be very stock-variable; I bought the last one in my branch.
