Ah. Well, even then I wouldn't mind one or two designs. For personal use, obv. (TBH, I only play online with Beex Club anyway.)

I picked this up earlier so I'll try to be around for some racing this week. Really enjoying it so far, though. Especially the rivals thing. Doing that also seems to pay out crazy amounts of money and xp compared to the career too. Having to get used to driving with a pad again though since my wheel is pretty well knackered.

I've been going through the career a bit tonight, levelling up my pink 500 Abarth. It's surprisingly more enjoyable than f3 I have to say.

I've been doing the turn ten sliding ponies rivals thing, just keep doing it in the modern saleen mustang and you end up making more in 5 minutes than a whole night in career. must be to encourage online play - its woooorking.

Spent an hour making two concepts for the BeeX livery:

The first one I'm thinking of changing... while I do like the 'layering' of colours along the side, I originally wanted more of a jagged 'tear' effect and only went with a giant star because I couldn't be bothered.

I was thinking the Evo should be light grey or something anyway, and it's not finished. The Jag is cool but a bit too minimalist for my liking.

I'm enjoying this one plenty. It really is much better than 3. The car handling seems to feel a bit less floaty somehow although it's still not quite up there with RacePro (although every other aspect of the game makes up for it). The cars occasionally seem to do some pretty odd things, like sometimes when you are nearly recovered from a slide they'll instantly snap into line in a physics-defying manner. But yeah everything else is great, I like how you can choose what sort of car you want to race and by and large the career mode will show you races suitable for it. The opponent AI seems pretty good too. Also in a rarity for a racing game not long after release the hot lap or rivals leaderboards seem to be filled with genuine rather than glitched times. 9/10

I still can't believe how quick you level up just through hot lapping in the rivals mode. I just played the NSX at Suzuka one for about 25 mins and I didn't even beat the car I'd set as my rival, however when I finished I got over 100,000cr and went up a level and a half.

Also I am trying to learn to use the manual with clutch option. It's actually really good now I'm getting to grips with it, although it takes a bit of brain training to rewire the action of using a clutch onto a button. Seems much quicker though, but apparently it depends on what car you're driving, which makes sense I guess.

I'd use the clutch on my wheel if I had a three pedal setup, but using one of the face buttons just isn't satisfactory.

Give it a go, it's a bit like getting used to manual gears was in the first place. Feels awkward at first but it quickly starts to feel more fun. I have the clutch on the A button with the gears on the two either side.

edit: ah I just reread what you put and yeah, I think it would be shit trying to use the wheel paddles for gears and then one of the face buttons for the clutch.

Left bumper on my pad for my clutch. Can be a bit finger contorty at times, I'm contemplating swapping it to the right trigger and see how that goes.

You're in now, btw, markg.

Cheers Perkies. Try it on the A button, it's easier than you might imagine then to disengage the clutch and change gears just by rolling your thumb. It took me a while though, so if you see me set off from the line in reverse when we are next racing you'll know what's happened.

Uh. I'm totally going to miss this again tonight. Really sorry folks. I had an assignment to hand in yesterday which meant I missed a workshop yesterday morning. Fortunately, I can attend a repeat of the workshop tomorrow afternoon. HOWEVER, this means that I have to prepare for two workshops tomorrow, both AM and PM, and that means I'm going to be working all evening. :(

Do I need to get any particular cars or anything for this? I think I've got most of the classes covered but they aren't tuned to the top of each class, so if I lose pathetically that'll be why.

markg, I think tuning is not allowed anyway so you can use cars from the manufacturer garage

You can use your own cars if you wish, but Poikies usually limits the car choice to a category and you can pick anything from within it, even if you don't actually own it yourself so you should be fine.

Apologies to Kalmar last night for all our comings-together last night - we appeared to be magnetic. :(

Also I totally jinxed it on the oval race when saying to Perkies how proud I was of our gentlemanly racing, only to bin my car into his side twice in the last two laps - sorry mate. :(

Other than that it was good fun - shame I was so uncompetitive most of the time.

Good fun that! Really need to get a new wheel though - I play on that the rest of the time but can't use it for these evenings because the mic interface is faulty, so I switch to the joypad - with hilarious consequences (sorry Myp!).

What sort of wheel do you have? If it's a Microsoft one then I've got one that's working apart from the centre group of buttons. If you want it or some bits out of it (I've already had it apart once) to fix yours just let me know.

Really enjoyed last night's racing, sterling work by Perkies organising everything and exceptionally gentlemanly conduct all round.

I was having a look at possibilities for a touring car championship. Cars are in R2 class with a PI of roughly 825-835:

Audi
#02 Audi A4 Touring Car
#03 Audi A4 Touring Car
#04 Audi A4 Touring Car
#05 Audi A4 Touring Car
#06 Audi A4 Touring Car

Mercedes
C-Class DTM Touring Car

Opel
#5 OPC Team Phoenix Astra V8 Coupe

It would feel more realistic to stick to real-world tracks for this (mainly in Europe). I would suggest a season something like this:

Hockenheimring Full Circuit
Mugello Full Circuit
Nurburgring Grand Prix Full Circuit
Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit
Circuit de Catalunya Grand Prix Circuit
Le Mans Bugatti Circuit

If that isn't enough, I suppose you could take the tour on a US or Japanese leg and use one or more of these as well (I've left out the 'roval' tracks, as they're not really the touring car style):

USA
Sebring Full Circuit
Mazda Laguna Seca
Road America
Road Atlanta Full Circuit
Infineon Raceway Long Course

Japan
Suzuka Full Circuit
Twin Ring Motegi Full Circuit

Thanks all for coming last night, what started out as just me and Chinny became the busiest night yet! Hello to krazywookiee's friend Gav who also isn't allowed to come back as he's also far too good at it.

Highlights!
-The Flat-top 500!
-some very close racing in the Australian V8s
-The Kalmar Cup of Eerie silence
-people finally accepting the Ford GT has shit brakes
-British racing action on Road Atlanta
-The Very Italian Race
-the second race in the Stock Car series saw newcomer Gav powering to victory, with fellow conspirator and most consistent driver krazywookiee leading the series with 16 points. Updated standings spreadsheet in the first post.

I think we'd have to agree that the RS500 is the official car of the club. I'll get to work on a proper livery for it when I have the time.

The European Touring Car series would likely be entirely in Europe, as there's plenty of tracks there. Thanks for taking the time there myp.

There is NO RACE NEXT WEEK. Circumstances conspire.

For goodness' sake, people, redeem your DLC codes.

Has anyone had a go with one of those floaty wireless speed wheels?
