and souls from bosses can also be turned into weapons once you get to the appropriate blacksmith.

Coo. ta. So when I get a thing like that, hot foot it back to the bonfire and use it to aid levelling up sharpish, lest it disappears seems to be a decent idea.

No. Souls in item form arent lost when you die. only the souls listed in the.bottom right of the screen. Same with humanity. You only lose that in the top left, not the humanity items.

Yes. Only convert your 'Soul of a X' when you're ready to spend them. Other wise you risk possibly losing them.

Um. OK. I guess I'll know when that is. I have found one merchant so far, by the place after the asylum. I suspect there are others in Undead Burg, but I've to fight my way through there tonight.

And I'm really looking forward to it. I have slight problems with the jam jar lobbing things when they have back up. What I do is try and draw them out of range and then get rid of them, and charge toward them and smack those jam jar throwing things away. Crossing the bridge I got cocky and surrounded. trying not to do that again.

Yeah, even being cocky when you're quite a way you can still get 'knocked the fuck out' by the weakest enemies if you let your guard down.

A crossbow or bow and arrow can be handy. There is a crossbow well hidden in e area, (and maybe dropped by the crossbow dude next to the bonfire, although I dont remember him dropping one) and the bow can be bougtlhrlt. Bows are better for long distance as they can be aimed. ,Crossbows are good for medium range as you need to be able to oock on.

He dropped one for me last night.

Also: This play through I didn't get the Metal Hog Helmet but I did get the Gargolye Helmet and Axe. I bet you'd have to play through plenty of time to get to see everthing this game contains.

You already know about this place, Mali?

Excellent resource. Try to just look at the basics first though so as not to spoil some of the ZOMFG bits.

Objective reached! I found the bonfire in Undead Burg and set off exploring again. Man, that Taurus demon has got a serious case of Wantstokillme.

I used some souls things that I found to level up and increased strength and dexterity, as this was a great idea.

Holy wow, this is amazing. Made all the more better by the notes and stuff left about. I also saw a white hoop in the air, but didn't know what that meant, so I smashed up some barrels instead, because, fuck barrels.

The White hoops give any miracles you cast a boost.

Affinity or summink with other casters in your whereabouts.

I had such a bastard time killing the taurus demon on my first play through. Now I wonder why I did. Possibly due to not having figured out surviving is a rather sensible thing to do.

I stood toe to toe with it and shouted "Come at me, bro" and it did and I blocked it then stumbled a bit and then i blocked it and I slashed ineffectively at it and then I got smashified. but there was an unsporting gentleman shooting arrows at me from somewhere so next time he's first.

I think I might go with a stout shield and a short but quick sword and thingy and try and take them on one by one. For about an hour when I generally decide that the biggest hammer or axe is the bestest thing ever. The Knight aargh doesn't have to be intelligent, just good at smacking things about.

This is just amazing. Best game I've ever played. Better than fallout 3. Better than skyrim.

In my "see how easy the asylum demon is with a knight" I went on until just after the taurus demon, and he is beatable using the knights standard gear by careful placing and blocking, and slowly wearing him down, but there are alternatives.

I'm going to smack that bitch seven shades of Sunday. That's the plan. I have a broadsword, and an Estoc, and a Morning Star. And some bombs of various colors.I also have a few cracked red eye orbs....

Really glad you stuck with it, I think the hooks are well and truly in now.

Wait until you make a little more progress and realise how fantastic the level design is too.

So, if I become human and use it I can use a hammer on another person's head?

It consumes my every redundant waking moment. All I want to do is get to the next bonfire. One bonfire at a time.

I think so. I never used them.

If you become human, I'd suggest then using another humanity on a bonfire to increase the number of healing items you get.

A quick 30 minutes later and I've got a reinforced club and a spear bought from the merchant in undead burg. I had a good old explore until i found a tall black knight man how then killed me. I saw a note that said "need humanity" so i +1'd it. The note system is brilliant.

More romping last night.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Capra demon done, first attempt with some summoned help (he helped knock a 1/3 health from it and I nailed him after rubbing electric pine dust on my halbard). This opened up the depths so I stormed in and did well until I got too cocky and forgot about the SECOND BUTCHER  .

I think I died once more down there but I got more summoned help back at the bonfire (hundreds of summon signs) and Solaire and smashed the fook out of the Gaping Dragon (this time I took his tail off and bagged the axe :metul: ).

At this point I should really start to use a different weapon as I'm trying to make this playthough as different as I can from my first.

But the halbard is just so bloody good! Hmm maybe I should use the Pike :D

I should switch to big swords or axes I suppose as I'm building a tank/miracle character.

The Halbard was amazingly shit in Demon's Souls - he'd flail about with a swing as you couldn't do the poke with one hand. I used only crushingly big swords Demons and it was aces.

Just thought I'd mention it as you'll never get to play it. 'cause you suck.

The spear is an OK weapon, I've found so far, ut I think I prefer the BASH! of the club. If you cock up with the spear, my man goes a bit wobbly and open to counter attacks.

Haven't they switched off the multi-player servers though now?

I've never used an Alluring Skull. I always thought they were to attract a certain type of enemy, just read up on them now.

Hmm, it appears I'm playing a new game rather than NG+

Just realised as I was reading up on the axe I got from the Gaping Dragon that. If I was playing NG+ I'd have got 75k souls rather than 25k.

Am I bothered?

Hmm, it appears I'm playing a new game rather than NG+

Just realised as I was reading up on the axe I got from the Gaping Dragon that. If I was playing NG+ I'd have got 75k souls rather than 25k.

Am I bothered?

Probably not. I found the new content better balanced in NG. NG+ always seemed easier.

I've never used an Alluring Skull. I always thought they were to attract a certain type of enemy, just read up on them now.

Uh - this is what they're for, no? That's certainly what I used one for, to make the armoured boar charge into the bonfire and cook itself.

I meant, I thought they might make a certain type of enemy appear.

Back in Blighttown. Still pleased with my progress, but man, this place is still a bitch. Got a nice sword, but it requires 50 strength to wield, I think I'm currently at 20.

How are you progressing, MaliA?
