Ok chaps, any suggestions for pubs to go to? Someone already suggested Ye Olde Trippe toe Jerusaleme (Thee Oldeste Pube in Englande). If it's a nice day it'd be worth going there, as they've got a nice patch of grass you can sit on outside. It's a bit dingy inside, as it's mainly made out of caves.

Also, shall we have a rollcall? It'd be nice to see who's actually coming (or maybe coming).

Me.

Yes, I still get annoyed by all those cliquey things the London lot say about when they all met up - it dominates the forum.

If I didn't honestly believe that he would hunt me down and kill me, I would post the video of Malc rabidly discussing how to cook eggs.

I did eggs yesterday, I did not use the method discussed at the pub.

Probably me. Depends how my brain is.

Also, anywhere without a cunting dress code to go to. I don't have any "smart" clothes being a dingy metullur.

Nope, no dress code. I shan't be taking us anywhere very trendy, don't worry. :)

I'll put you on the maybe list.

The list of people attending will be on the first post shortly.

Why not go to the smallest pub in Britain?

The Thalidomide Arms.

Anywhere that chooses who to let in like that won't get my custom. Simple. Also: Any bar that charges for admission.

Anyway: I'll be coming if I'm not dead.

I'll be sure to arrange my funeral for "Myoptikas house, 9th August" in the event of death.

Time to go off to amend my will accordingly.

I'll probably come, and will request the use of the spare bed that I so expertly slept in last time I was there.

Er - dunno. It's my 3rd wedding anniversary in 2 weeks, which means I'm about 13 days away from making some decision about whether we should do anything for it. How well through planning mid-August do you think I am?

Are there good veggie friendly food things around? Or do I have to do my Golden Child impression?

There used to be a veggie fast-food place called V1, but it closed down a couple of years ago. There's a continental cafe-style place that does an amazing array of veggie food, but I remember it being a mite on the expensive side.

There's also a pub called The Old Angel that did veggie food last time I was there, but it's a bit cliquey there so I don't go often (Jonarob would love it).

Most pubs and sandwich shops do decent vegetarian options.

I've spent a lot of my life in the Nottingham though I'm in London at the minute so won't be joining you I'm afraid.

Still I back myoptika and say you should go to the Old Trippe as it is super-mega-old and really damn interesting because of it.

I'll almost certainly be there, depending on workloads. I'm sure I can spare a weekend though.

Could do with crashing at myp's house too, if space is still available. Unless there's any decent and cheapish B&Bs about - I really don't want to wake up and find bits of Dimrill's beard in my pants.

Yep, still room. To be honest, even if I've run out of conventional sleep space I'm sure there will be room on the floor to crash out on, as long as a few people bring sleeping bags. I've got two double beds, two sofas and I'll buy a couple of £8 camp beds from Tesco for my spare room.

Heh, not *just* yet Myp. I'd love to come but I have a job interview soon (yikes!) and I'm not sure what the hours would be should I get it. I don't want to be too cheeky asking about my working hours as I'm going to need just over two weeks off when I go to the US. Whoops!

I'll let you know next month, feel free to put me down as a maybe. :)

I might loiter outside staring through the window looking wistful. I'm not so far from Nottingham so I may be a maybe. I'll have to start speaking more on CoD4 though otherwise I'll be too scared to meet the mighty Dimrill and CUS et all.

It's difficult to yell 'cunt' continuously for an hour in front of the missus though...

Two very different states there, I was at a wedding of a friend from Florida... in North Carolina last year but I've been to both before. It's almost possible to even reduce it as far as "Florida = touristy customer facing America", "Carolina = The south that you've heard so much about", although the Carolinas are a considerably more pleasant place than say, Alabama.
