I am off to Italy at the end of the month 28th July.

Can any one recommend hotel and parking at Gatwick, I have never been before...

When I went to vegas, I booked a 'Secret Hotel' at Gatwick through Lastminute.com. It was significantly cheaper than any named hotel on either lastminute or expedia. We were allocated the Holiday Inn, which is a 5 minute cheap bus away, and should have cost 3 times the amount we paid.

They also have options for longterm carparking as part of the package.

Oh bugger no secret hotels that day..

I can get the Holiday Inn free because of loyalty points but I will need to do parking separate.

Is that a better option parking will be about £65

Just use any comparison site like lastminute or holidayextras. Do a few to check, but the prices will likely all come out about the same.

Thanks Doc.

Just did that with the parking and it is about £65 - Free hotel)

Hotels are about £100+

So will save if I do them separate just the haste of checking out then driving to parking then getting from parking to airport...

Hmm. I paid £91 last night for one night in the Ibis in Birmingman plus up to two weeks parking (in the proper long term car park). I guess Gatwick is more expensive than Brum.

(I could have has parking+one night stay for £70 from the Premier Inn, but the hotel was further out and needed a taxi to the airport for another £5 each way. That sounded like no way to be catching a plane at 5am so I skipped it.)

Just rang the Holiday inn that I am stopping for free at.

They will do the parking for £7 a night so £56 for hotel and parking.
