In a pleasing reversal of the usual, I saw someone had written "I wish my bloke was this dirty" on the back of a van. Of course, they meant "I wish my bloke were this dirty", but still, it's the thought that counts.

Especially when you have badly specced systems underperforming or people leaving windows open and letting the cold out, and all that.
Not to mention the refrigerant effects on the atmostphere (although that improved these days).

Please be telling me how to improve the temperature in my house without aircon (seriously - at this rate I worry that my yearly energy use will be... Ooh... Perhaps a third of yours? ;) No, but seriously).

Tickets for the Oval cricket are sold out for the weekend, except for the sunday and at £75 a go, I might give this a miss.

I'm still tempted to book a day off on the Monday and get a ticket for it, just in case.

Had one of my best days ever at The Oval, on the 4th day of the final 2005 Ashes Test. 'Twas epic.

The only downside to the plan is that there is precious little chance of getting the wife to give me a day off at the cricket in the same week as the music quiz.

Who is playing? I ask because it has now become deeply suspect that my australian cousin would just happen to be in London this weekend and has invited my Parents down. My entire family (bar me) is Cricket mad and will go to insane lengths to watch it - they also tend to enable each other a lot with this madness and I only find out after the fact. eg:

"speak to your mother and wish her a happy birthday"
"I called the house, where are you?"
"Sri Lanka"
"why"
"cricket"
"this is why your car is rubbish dad"
"priorities little love"

Hnnnnggggnnnn... getting pissed off now trying to add dynamic text (for price updates) into Flash banners.

The mixture of me knowing fuck all about action script, tutorials referencing newer versions of Flash means I'm completely baffled.

I've sussed how to make the text field dynamic in flash and that I need to make an external xml file with the text that feeds into it but I can't hammer the bastards together. Maybe its the fact the text has alpha and movement adjustments going on...

I'll look again after lunch.

I have no idea what any of :this: means but Good Luck!!

Ooh, this week I saved approximately £90 by buying the boys first term school uniforms in Tesco instead of M&S or Next, like I usually do. As I have horrible boys that insist on growing, fighting and taking 'the scenic route' home, they will ruin/outgrow 3 pairs of shoes, 5 shirts, 4 pairs of trousers every year regardless of how much I spend on them. So fuck it, says I.

Also: Big Shop = £60 this week :DD Which still leaves £30 for 'sundry items'. I haven't actually bought anything yet though, as we're living off the stuff in the freezer and cupboards this month. I foresee many, many meals consisting of pasta and beans.

Is it....pasta and, erm, beans...? Mixed together? Inna bowl? With optional seasoning? I think I might have that one covered. I'll let Doccy G write a blog post about it though, if he wants.
