I once lent on an electric fence and literally jumped about a foot in the air. It was fencing off a bull as well, so I guess it was towards the upper end of the power scale.



I once touched one on purpose (an electric fence not a bull) and was all blazé about it as nothing happened for 2 or 3 seconds, then, all of a sudden, I got a massive jolt. My arm was forced back from the elbow, and it stung like hell for about 10 minutes. Then there was a numb feeling for the rest of the day.

Once, I was stood on a swivel chair, on the bed, about to change a bulb that had just gone pop. I'd taken the old bulb out, and thrown it gently onto the pillow. Then, forgetting which fit it was (bayonet, or screw) I stuck my fingers into the light fitting to discover the type of bulb was really the least of my worries.
