Wahl for me too - I'm balding, so I just have done with it just go for a No.1 cut all over, once a week. What's left seems to grow fast, annoyingly. (The thought of doing it myself with my levels of clumsiness would be terrifying, however; I'd probably manage to decapitate myself. Mrs Caveman does it in about 2 mins and has a special little battery powered jobbie for removing ear hair as well  ).Mind you, I was stupid and bought a rechargeable one, which as it gets older finds it harder to retain enough charge for one cut, which is a shame as it's still pretty good in other respects and the blades are still OK despite years of frequent use. Like so many others have said already, mains powered is deffo the way forward.

Haha, I remember this thread. It's a few days before Russell and I met. I don't think I realised the same person at the time though as his name was different on Twitter to how it was on here, or something. I remember assuming that he was a very short person (because he said that he was tall, and I just assume everyone on this forum is being sarcastic all of the time). Anyway, I cut his hair now. |

I think GazChap needs his hair cutting (because I like the feels of it when it's freshly done) but he's ignoring my subtle hints ("your hair is getting a bit long now love") so I think I'm just going to have to trim it in his sleep.

I've also quickly came to like my shaved short, no fucking around haircut. Unfortunately the boy is under the impression that we now have matching haircuts for life, which could make the next round of chemo traumatic. |

Bringing this thread back from the dead to ask if the Beex Hive Mind has advanced any more thoughts on clippers bestness? I have a set of Remington clippers, corded, that are a couple of years old, but man they really struggle on Russell and Darwin’s hair. They both have super thick hair and LOADS of it, and the clippers can’t get through. Yesterday I had to hold Russell’s hair centimetre by centimetre perpendicular to his head and try to cut it tiny tuft at a time (I gave up and resorted to scissors). Does anyone here have any clippers they would recommended for someone with far too much and too thick hair? Corded would be my preference, just for power purposes, with guards up to 1”. |

I’ve had Wahl and they likewise lost power after some time (though more than two years), but I think there might be quite a big difference between the various models and the cheaper home end to more robust ones. |

I'm hardly the epitome of "thick hair", but I use Wahl, and I've had no problems on using them on my (mixed race) kids. The clippers I have been using for almost 7 years now, were essentially the cheapest corded Wahl I could find on Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0000C6XNH |

Hello! Yes, me..... I spend more time trimming my beard than my head hair. People have joked that my head looks like it's on upside down which I find both amusing and hurtful, and also accurate. The nose hair trimmer gets a lot of use, and has done for many years. Only recently have my eyebrows started becoming a bit unruly. My ears also need a quick once over periodically too. |

True, and the first grey pube is also a slightly upsetting occasion. But what really, really sucks for me in getting older is that small wounds (cuts, scratches, burns) take aaaages to heal as my skin gets a bit older and thinner
