I saw that - it actually said that Tom Gabriel Fischer has left, rather than they've split up, so I guess they'll be doing the festival shows they had planned with someone else...
Can't see another album happening though, which sucks.

I honestly did yesterday, Myo, sorry, but forgot to say.

I like them both, although I don't madlike like them. I like the production, I liked the playing - actually, I liked everything except the songwriting. They felt more like... collections of riffs than fully fleshed-out songs. Enjoyable riffs, mind. Then again, it might be you were going for some genre or such that I don't know, with its own conventions and quirks. Still, I found myself thinking 'Oh, I like that bit...' but then we'd be off onto the next, a bit frustratingly, heh.

They variously reminded me of 'New Paths To Helicon Part 1' by Mogwai, 'Earthworks' by Kerbdog, and erm, something off 'Terria' by Devin Townsend. The guitar about 4 mins into 'Test of Time' is very Terria. It's nice.

I will be keeping 'em and putting them on my iPod.

Well so far the new Cryptopsy is still them... mostly. Some fucking abysmal singing bits that are still fucking abysmal even after I was expecting them through the 2 leaked tracks. "Leach" in particular seems fucking ruined with this terrible cack. New vocalists cookie monster vocals hark back to the Mike DiSalvo era... when he's not abysmally crooning.

Today I am mostly listening to "Tales From The Punchbowl" by Primus. It is better than Cryptopsy.

Don't Cryptopsy have the world record for the fastest blast beat or something daft?

That I don't know.

The mix on this fucking stinks. The drums are so high that I can hardly make out the guitars. Flo's baby after all, I suppose. 3/4s through now and the crooning quota is increasing. :( :( :'(

Well I certainly won't be buying this rekkid. Fuck em. Glad I tasted it first.

Started out very much in the Mike DeSalvo era of ...And Then You'll Beg lite, which sounds like them, but worse! Now this little crooing prick is making life unbearable. Attached a file for you to make your own mind up.

I was listening to the Brown Album the other day. Probably not a popular choice, but it's my favourite album of theirs.

In fact the bassline from 'The Return of Sathington Willoughby' is my favourite bassline of all-time.

Pudding Tane, Shake Hands With Beef, Hats Off, Camelback Cinema, Bob's Party Time Lounge... not got that on my PC, must ripe that later. That or Sailing The Sees... is prob my fave.

EXCITING PRIMUS NEWS: they are to release an album sometime in the next year, with the 'classic' line-up. Hoorah!

Two Opeth tracks have been leaked. One has blastbeats on. It's not bad, on first listen.

Blackwater Park is the only Opeth album I have, off Mr. Dimrill. He may be surprised to know that I still have it ripped, and like it quite a bit. Except for the title-track which skips lots and was a swine to rip. >:|

I think I'd rather just take your word for it, I think it would upset me too much :'(

Recommend me more black metal Dimrill, that sounds dirty produced but melodic, like Burzum and Abyssic Hate. I feel the need! That Kroda was pretty good, but not tooooo sure on it, a bit to clean sounding and not filthy enough I think for me. I'll give it another bash though.

I've been on a Detroit/Berlin Dub/Techno trip of late, so not been listening to metul, but listened to Human by Death while making dinner last night. God I love that album, pinnacle of Death Metal for me, just perfect.

Hellveto are more traditional Bathory type worship. Armaggedon and Blodulv are a filthly as fuck. Vordr are much rawer, punkier stuff. Odelegger are one of the rawest bands I've ever heard. Blistering.

I was just about to say Wigrid :D Have you got Hoffnungstod, his first one?

There's also Forest, in fact most of the politically dubious Blazebirth Hall bands like Branikald and Ravendark.

I don't have Hoffnungstod, I shall get that, as well as others you mention, yay!

I've noticed (worryingly) that a lot of the BM I like most is rather politically dubious. hmmmmmm. I found out I Shalt Become are dodge the other day, which is sucky as they are fucking amazing too >:|

Load up slsk ;)

Yeah, just released their new one on No Colours. The way I see it, is that's only rock n roll. I can ignore the stupidity that goes with it as I have my own mind and am capable of saying "yeah, that's really stupid, but it's got a good beat!" *swings pants*
