I think I prefer Maiden England too. I got into that era of Maiden first, so I have more of a connection to the material.

That said, they are a brilliant complement to each other. England has the later stuff, but a different selection from the earlier albums too. Of course, you have 'Number of the Beast' and 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' on both, but 'The Prisoner', 'Die With Your Boots On' and 'Still Life' are golden tracks that were bizarrely not on the Live After Death set.

Having had mine returned to me from my brothers house, I'm about to do this in the next fortnight or so. I'll chuck you a copy when I get it done.

That'd be utterly fab Pliss mate, deffo owe you copious pints. Many thanks mate, most kind of you. :luv:

Had no joy googling etc. and had eventually given up with a heavy heart. Love this Maiden era.

Totally agree with that sentiment mate. With LAD you have 'Mariner, but MIE hits back with Seventh Son of a Seventh Son... love these Maiden epics. The Evil that Men do is my fave Maiden track of all time as well (The Trooper close second).

Meh, my Maiden all-times:

1. The Evil that Men Do (live version - faster/harder)
2. The Trooper (ditto)
3= Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
3= Heaven Can Wait
4. The Clairvoyant
5. Aces High
6. Alexander The Great
7. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
8. Powerslave
9. Children of the Damned
10= 22 Acacia Avenue
10= Hallowed Be Thy Name
10= Fear of the Dark

"MAIDEN...MAIDEN...MAIDEN..." etc. Ahem.
Last saw 'em @ Manc last year, with Mrs Caveman. They totally rocked of course; the nearby Hard Rock Cafe was *full* of Maiden fans before the gig and we all got trashed, watched/loudly sang along to all the old classics etc. Feck knows what anyone who just came in for a burger thought about us grebs. :D

Eddie the Spitfire pilot... classic Riggs.
I was seriously tempted to have this as a custom tank job on my Bonneville. Awesome stuff.
Wicker Man is my all time fave artwork. AMAZING.

It was on BBC Four a while back. Got it recorded. Good fun.

Also have some Maiden stuff I was thinking of selling. Mainly picture discs, 12" of each single from the Seventh Son album, Aces High, Powerslave. I really ought to take pics and stick the discs on eBay - I'm sure I saw the Aces High disc at 50 quid. And I have several mispresses too.

Looks like the Kyuss Lives debacle is over the rights to the name Kyuss. As in, Garcia and chums started proceedings to take full ownership of it behind the backs of Homme and Reeder who have had to scramble and launch a counter-sue. HmMMMmmmMMMmmMMrrmrmrmrmrmrmrmrmM.

Okay, I'm lying. 3 is The Trooper. I do like Man on the Edge, though.

Listened to that in one sitting; thanks for the link Mark. :)

Didn't always work (becomes a wall of piano at times, as one might imagine), but very impressive nonetheless.

News on new Tool album! Sort of

Anyone listening to Torture (new CC album)? I'm loving it, so far. It reminds me of Bloodthirst at times, which was always one of my faves (nobody really seems to rate it, though)!

Turrrurrrzurrr gave it 4/5 this month. I would've put it joint album of the month with Anathema.

Irritating horrible racist Vikernes has made another irritatingly good album. Fair play to the man, he's never written the same album twice.

Local market? My black denim jacket has lovely death metal patches all over it. I got my wife to sew them on, as is the custom with these things.

Alas, I am without wife. I should have to sew them on myself, or face the ignominy of asking my mother to do it.

I'll certainly try the local markets, though! (Oh, and PIX PLZ!)

Edit: Primordial the day after my birthday, too. Fuuuuuuuck!

It's my ma's birthday, so I'm supping horrible wine and headbanging to Celtic Frost.

We should play a Celtic Frost drinking game, actually. Every time Tom says "UGH!" or "Hey!", you take a drink.
