I never wanted to be a fucking landlord. I fucking hate it. And if I sell the fucking millstone-around-my-fucking-neck, the fucking government want a nice big wet 18% capital gains tax, so I'll probably end up with some hanging-chad of a mortgage hangover.

You didn’t consider lowering the price? If you were dead against being a landlord would have not taking a hit and selling been the better option?

Err, so, if you sold it at, say, £50k profit (after all costs of sale etc) you’re angry you’d have to pay £7k in tax and only walk away with £43k?

Minor but painful nay. I got bitten by a mosquito on the part where my ear meets my head and it's turned into impetigo, and my ear is swelling up and blistering. Luckily I just happened to have a doctor's appointment today so she's given me the treatment for it, but man alive my ear is sore.

Oh that sucks. I get impetigo under my nose after a cold (except I never drag my arse to the docs to get it sorted so it comes back again and again ) and it's so sore and itchy. Hope it goes asap

I've got a PCN coming for not paying the toll for crossing the new Mersey Gateway Bridge last month. It's the first time I've forgotten to pay, but they have my email address associated with my van reg because I've paid them about a dozen times previously. Pity they couldn't just send me a reminder when I hadn't paid after 24 hours.

I got done for nearly £500 for failing to pay the fee for both legs of a the Dartford crossing. Galling, but it was my fault for not updating my address with the DVLA.

I've since added my bank details to Dart Crossing, so they can just debit money from my account, which makes life easier.

I changed addresses then got caught by a speed camera. NIP, points, fine, escalating fine all to my old address until it got to the point my license was cancelled. When I finally worked it out and got round to getting it reinstated, no fine and no points.

Was around £250 each way, based on the fines that escalate after each period
of non-payment elapses. Which I was oblivious to as the letters were going to my old address.

My original fine would have only been £35 or something, I think.
