About to sign up for Netflix now, there's no way I can wait until the arse end of next year to get the DVD boxset for the whole season, so I'll have to make do with half of one for now.

You're in the same boat as the rest of us BB fans - the production team don't start shooting the 'second half' of BB season 5 until next month.

That depends what you like - have a browse and see. :)

Yeah, it's pretty good. Often you'll find that programmes/films start off in a lower resolution, but if your connection speed is good the quality should improve after a minute or two (at least that's what I usually find).

It's also possible to access content from other regions (US, Canada, etc) with Unblock-US or a VPN. More details here:

oh, whilst you are on the free month, get the free week of US proxy, so you can see that stuff too!

AmazonGlobal Expedited Shipping. Which states a delivery time of 8-14 days!

So I watched Episode 1 of Season 5 last night - is it just me who can't help but think Walt is pretty cool? I don't dislike him yet, that's for sure.

Also, I then found that they have a pretty good South Park archive on Netflix, so that was the hour after that sorted.

I think Walt does really establish himself as the cool antihero in season 5.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
The start of episode 7 easily being one of my favourite Heisenberg moments.

So just done Episode 4 of Season 5.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Even though it was obvious Skyler was going to say her plan simply amounted to 'I'm waiting for the cancer to come back' it was still a real OMG moment.

And I just can't but keep coming back to this, when am I supposed to start hating Walt? When is he supposed to become the antagonist? I know that's supposed to be the arc of Season 5, but I'm not seeing it coming yet.

He's no angel for sure, but I still don't see him as ever having done more than turn on his survival and protection circuits.

I couldn't possibly answer that. As always, keep watching ........ :)

Only 4 eps to go - then you HAVE to start all over again from season 1 episode 1. Seriously - it actually manages to seem even better on a second viewing (if that's possible). :D

More awful than he did in the first four series? Not for my money.

If you've not recognised Walt as the antagonist by this point in the series, my guess is that you won't. Also: :blown:

Er, lovely.

I'm still not sure if I like this or not, but will watch to the end of S2 to see how it goes.

I didn't see that as him attempting to rape her, when she told him to stop he stopped, he was probably feeling a bit more primal than her due to, y'know, the drug deals and the violence and having just seen a man get beaten to death, whereas she was feeling tired and pregnant and wondering what the fuck her husband was up to.

This is where I find it hard to ever find myself as thinking of Walt as the bad guy, he just seems to find himself increasingly mismatched for a lot of the people around him.

Only Episodes 7 and 8 left to go of Season 5 now, but I'll have to give up and go to bed now, my alarm goes off at an unsociably early hour :)

Absolutely on tenterhooks to see how it finishes off, or at least, how this half of the season finishes off :D

He didn't need to kill Mike. He didn't need to, but he chose to anyway. In the past he's resorted to killing as a solution, but this time it was just because he wanted to.

Point taken.

Personally that's not worse than almost-fatally poisoning a kid in order to manipulate Jesse (if only because Mike's in the business and knew what he was getting into when he decided to throw his lot in with a guy he knew was bad news), but it's debatable and I totally see where you're coming from.

He was pinning her against the fridge while she shouted at him to stop. In the end she managed to push her off. Just because he didn't mean for it to be (attempted, probably - who knows if he got it in?) rape doesn't mean it wasn't.

The Blu-ray commentary for that scene is very interesting. But you'll have to buy the Blu-rays (or DVD?) to hear it. :)

Yes but what if he thought Skyler would be up for some consensual kitchen sex? To start with she appears to be going along with it and then changes her mind, and when she gives him the very clear 'STOP IT' he does indeed stop it.

In fact, I've just fired up Netflix to check, and she doesn't tell him to stop it immediately by quite some margin, (I mean, she lets him get her knickers down whilst she still seems to be up for it, or at least, not adverse to it), and it's only when she sort of slips forward and bangs her head on the fridge that she does the full 'STOP IT'.

One has to remember that Walt's been going through an awful lot, and he did just see Tuco beat a man to death, so he's probably all a bit brutalised and primal and wants to put his knob into something.

That is genuinely the most disturbing post I've ever read on this forum. And considering this forum has got INSERT NAME HERE* on it, that's pretty impressive.

Out of all of us, who's watched this scene recently?

I watched it once on my original run through the seasons about, what, three weeks ago, and I've now watched it twice more just to be sure, including once again just five minutes ago.

I'm not seeing what you're seeing in that scene.

Saw it for the third time inside the last month. Just watched it again trying to keep my mind open to make sure I was seeing what was there and not mentally filling in the details that supported my position.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Skyler seems sort of into it for a few seconds. Then she's kind of going along with it for a few seconds. Then she clearly says "hold... Hold up! Enough! Stop it!" but Walt ignores her and carries on, only stopping when she cries out in pain and yells "Stop it!"

I don't see where there's any room for interpretation at all.

I agree with the events as you're depicting them, we're all watching the same thing after all :) But I still interpret it differently.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
As you say, she goes from 'into it', to 'consensual', to 'not wanting it' to 'STOP IT' in a very short amount of time, certainly the 'not wanting it' passing into 'STOP IT' literally lasts just a few seconds.

Walt is traumatised, and he's probably all over the place after what he's just been through with Tuco, at the same time, the 'new' Walt is starting to appear, more primal and vicious.

I'm not defending him as such, just saying that I didn't see it as him attempting to rape her.

THIS IS POST SEASON 2 SPOILS SO NOT FOR GRIM... YET

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
If anything I think this is the first real incident where the divergence of Walt and Skyler really makes itself known, she just never buys into the new Walt, but that's not to say that it was a foregone conclusion that she wouldn't.

Some women get along with men embroiled in a life of crime perfectly well, Skyler is not one of them.

I mean really, as a couple they're not exactly in a great place before the cancer and meth thing starts anyway, it's hard to see what could have sorted the marriage out, with or without the cancer and meth and drug kingpin trajectory.

Bloody Walter White!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -drug.html

I reckon a good bath is all they need.

Britney Spears lookalike was definitely nice at 32. I've woken up next to worse than her at 36, but all downhill thereafter.

But he's completely changed into the bad guy now. He's relentless!

He was always a badguy, really, but yeah completely remorseless now. I am wondering if he'll be redeemed before the end, seems unlikely though. Good luck Jesse!

I dunno, he's been provoked an awful lot along the way.

He's not as bad as the people he has to deal with.

All the best bad guys are pretty cool anyway. "Too cool to be the bad guy" makes no kind of sense.

Why was he a bad guy though? A bit morally ambiguous in some regards perhaps, but his basic motivation has been to provide for his family.

And his wife should support him more.

His basic motivation is the fact that he sold out his part in the old business for $5000 while his "friends" went on to make millions. He wants to out-do them. Well that's the way I read into it. He needs to be the best, and won't stop until everyone knows he is the best.
