The bit at the bottom with the Grunker was a bit hard on Insane, until we decided to throw six grenades at its face as soon as we landed.

Wullie and I were barely getting our feet on the ground before fire death occurred. Did you play Arcade Insane or Man-up Insane?

We'll nail it next time. We are stubborn fuckers. :metul: :DD

We were on Arcade. The 25-second wait on respawning is a fucking killer.

Both! Typically, I cook dinner and game from 7pm-8:30 or so a couple of times a week, then watch TV or a film with Danielle. I should probably try and game later if I'm hoping to see other people.

I think it's disrespectful to Dom to use respawns.

You should think of the sacrifice he made.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
There isn't actually one. Just winding you up. (Or am I.) :P

Although I can't help but feel that with no respawn or recovery (and recoverty was a _much_ better gameplay mechanic, frankly) It would be as much fun as hitting your cock with a hammer and rusty nail.

Ah yes, the tradition of dying immediately rather than going down so you could be picked up by your partner.

Sure, but there're no ‘downs’. You take damage, you die. Your team have stay alive for 25 seconds or it's game over. Easier said than done.

Most of you might have already heard but:

Quote:
"Also coming soon for Gears of War 3 [PEGI 18] is the FREE Versus Booster Pack, featuring 5 explosive new multiplayer maps: Gears 1 faves 'Swamp' and 'Clocktower', and 'Azura', 'Rustlung' and 'Blood Drive' as seen in the Horde Command Pack. The Versus Booster Pack hits Xbox LIVE for FREE on November 24."

Anytime you like mate, I always see whose about before deciding what to play and you are 9 times out of 10 watching a video so i don't disturb you. Chuck me an invite whenever you fancy a game. My Wullie has evaporated again.

I've played hardly any Gears, certainly not enough to justify buying it. Campaggen is dull on your own.

It doesn't help that my gaming period midweek is typically 7pm-8:30pm or so, when few others are around. With a modest amount of planning I can always do pre-set days though.

Dimrill frothed exponentially and I joined in. I mean, I applaud giving free content away, but to announce this giveaway literally a day or two after a very very similar paid DLC launched is a bit of a cunt's trick. If they really wanted to make it a gift, they wouldn't have waited to take so many people's money first.

And yeah, I'll still play this. Lots more horde and beast needed for me badges :)

Wait, I read about the free DLC being the same maps as the premium pack weeks ago. It's not new news. They only conned people who weren't paying attention.

The announcements I read were all dated 2nd November (corroborating evidence) The first paid DLC was released the day before, and once Epic had patched teething issues so all the eager hordes could hand over their money they announced the free DLC that night (hence all the 2nd Nov announcement articles). So I don't know what you read or think you read, or when you think you did or didn't read it.

I done gone bought this yesterday. I was given a GAME voucher card for my imminent birthday so I decided I'd get Gears seeing as Skyrim is on my Christmas list. Got it for £23.99 (I think, might've been a quid more) in GAME. Second hand. Went in expecting to pay full price for a new copy, only to be convinced to buy a second hand copy at the till by a nice young lassie. When I explained that I wanted DLCCODEZ, she explained to me that there were none, and there was no reason not to just get it second hand. Which I did. She also gave me a separate DLC code for a character skin thing. Rambo Dom or something.

Spent the rest of my voucher card on space points. Trine 2 and Trials Evolution are coming soon, innit.

What a magical story :p

I'm actually moderately looking forward to the next DLC which is out soon-ish, "Raam's Shadow"... campaggen-based, I believe it is a prequel to the whole thing, perhaps set during E-Day when the Locust surfaced to attack, perhaps even playing as locust characters? I can't remember my sources or if I even had any so emphasis on the "perhaps" each time, but it does at least sound like something they have thought about and put a modicum of effort into rather than "ZOMG MOAR MAPZ!!!1". Tentatively optimistic.

I have done some researches and they suggest most of my perhapses are on the money; how much you play as Locust is uncertain though, but you definitely get to play as Raam himself :) And release is Dec 13th.

Sorry for being so lame last night. My hands only know how to play Dark Souls these days.

Maybe it was me being tired or the distracting videos Perkies sent me links to.

I'll never eat raspberry sorbet ever again.

Have just had a dibble dabble on the first couple of acts of Raam's Shadow, it seems pretty meaty by DLC standards... it is just more of the same in so far as it's a few more chapters of campaggen, but I have just played a chunk as Raam (presumably in co-op others play as maulers and theron) so here's a bit of something extra thrown in.

So who gotten? Will we have 5 for the horde cheevo or do I need to use illicit methods? (ie. True Achievements)
