I have infinite uses of that.

Meanwhile, I did not understand how bard spells work and did not think I had cure wounds available even though i knew it.

One of its possible uses is: You instantaneously clean or soil an object no larger than 1 cubic foot.

Sorry. I've poured over everyone else's D&D Beyond sheets out of wanting more D&D related brain food, if you'd have made one I probably wouldn't have read up on bards so much.

I was doing some prep for session two last night and I’m excited to play again, can’t wait to see where we end up.

Since we start session two not far into the mouth of a goblins cave, after having our journey interrupted and taking some damage, how are Ermintrude, Ivo, Zardoth and Schuu feeing as they stand there contemplating going deeper into the dark cave?

Post subject:  Re: Dungeons and Dragons

Zardoth is shaken and really ready for a long rest to heal (and spell jiggle). The thought of more low level loot and the chance of helping more critters is driving him on though.

Ermintrude is wondering why the goblin on the bridge is trying to hide despite not being aware of our presence. They are thinking there's more than goblins in this cave.

I imagine Ermintrude lying on the floor of a cavern, 15 goblin arrows stuck in their chest, gazing on an outstretched palm with a single copper piece in it. As a tear runs down their cheek their last thought is of the half of mild they never got to drink.

Detect Magic will tell you if an item is magical, and if it is illusion/conjuration/necromantic magic etc, but it won't tell you what the item is.

Post subject:  Re: Dungeons and Dragons

Ivo is currently scared of goblins, but eager to rescue Gundren from the evil that has taken him! He knows this is a righteous quest, and that the party has Xunt's blessing! ( Xunt, in fact, neither knows nor cares about the party ).

Ivo is also aware that he wasn't much use in the last two fights, and wishes to prove himself to his new friends.

Ivo can't detect magic, but does have a certain education in magical lore ( proficiency in Arcana ).

Detect magic would tell you if it was magical, and the school of magic.

Identify would tell you what the item was including the mechanical effects such as if it was a ring of protection that afforded +1 to armour class.

My Phhhhhhhb arrived today and I noticed that I was supposed to add a trinket to my inventory during character creation. I hope you don't mind, but I just updated my char to have one. For the first time I rolled my d100 in anger! I am now the proud owner of "A metal can that has no opening but sounds as if it is filled with Vegemite". Gilly! What use are these trinky thinkies?

Post subject:  Re: Dungeons and Dragons

Oh I also read up more on character backgrounds, I'd chosen Sage but I think my Druid should be a Hermit. Does it make much difference, SDG? Don't think it'll have an effect on rolls/stats just starting equipment, gold, and story elements.

It changes a couple of proficiencies as well, so you might have to rejiggle them, as you might already have them from somewhere else.

Mostly flavour. Very slim chance you might be able to work it into the story.
