After using this all weekend I've concluded that it's actually a bit flaky. Seems to frequently stop loading pages halfway through and now it appears to have messed up cookies somehow so I have to log into this site on every visit.

Really? I've not had any problems. It seems to have overtaken Safari as my browser of choice now.

A sort of workaround. Scroll down to see the non-jailbreak version.

I downloaded VLC Remote Free last night. Using it I can control all the controls of VLC from the sofa.

I paid the 2.99 to upgrade to the full version as it lets you navigate the entire folder structure of your computer to select a file to play.

Damn useful.

"Remotes" exist for most media stuff that runs on a PC - VLC, WMP, Plex, Spotify, etc.

HippoRemote is a pretty good universal one, and comes with pre-programmed profiles for the major things like xbmc, vlc, chrome, YouTube leanback and some other stuff. Customisable too, and can also be a keyboard and trackpad for navigating in windows.

There is also one called VLC Amigo but I haven't tried that one.

I really like a new(?)(ish?) app called Assembly.

Basically a load of vector shapes you can assemble into various things. I'm just using it to doodle new contact pictures for people that text me, to make my messages app screen look cute, so I've just been doodling friends and family as they text, but you could make far more fancy things.
