It's an interesting compromise between a few powerful turrets vs. hundreds of small ones that won't eventually hurt the enemies but will direct them along a specific path.

To be fair, I played it a bit a few months ago, so I know vaguely what's going on.

Man, I just put in my best score yet and still couldn't come close to the Rev. How do you do it?

the fun mode, with lots of starting cash is good for the OCD layouts that have to be perfect

I did, but the order they're placed in is almost as important.

I had a go. Score: 969

Start by bringing the guys down from the top to left entrance, build maze from there. Add in some squirt towers here and there - as soon as you can put two of them covering the exits, helpful for flying guys that slip through.

Once the maze is reasonably long start upgrading the squirt towers - have at least one on 4 stars before the first dark wave.

Add in a couple of frost towers near concentrations o f squirt towers when you can - they're cheap to upgrade, so do it.

Extend the maze when you think you've got some breathing room, looping back round means towers have two chances to shoot guys.

Um, I can't really think of anything else. But I don't do any building for the last, say, twenty waves. By that stage it's all about upgrading. Fully upgraded squirt towers do huge amounts of damage.

Not the best strategy - I've never finished with all my lives left - but it gets me through to the end.

I have no trouble killing the ground ones, I just get mauled by the flyers. I placed okay on the leaderboard, but every life I lost was down to those accursed flyers. Do you use a lot of the rocket things that only attack flying baddies, or not?

Is this Flash Element TD you're playing? Arrows kill flyers too.

I don't use the things that only attack flyers, but I'm wondering if I should. One keeps getting through.

I played onslaught for ages a while ago. I liked it, but got annoyed at the sheer inability to win. It just keeps getting harder and harder so failure is inevitable, even with max-powered turrents of all kinds in the best combinations.

So, what do I win?

I managed to complete it, although I haven't got the time to replay as much as Rev clearly has

Definitely an interesting one though. I never used more than the first 3 types of turrets, although there's much potential for replay and altering strategy.

The key for me I think is getting as many as the pellet turrets up and running as soon as possible in order to create the maze and keep the waves in check, and then retrofit with different, upgraded turrets as time goes on.

Certainly, the flying ones are a bitch, and I had no hope of killing either of the final flying 'boss' wave. Didn't have anywhere near the anti-air power required.

Sorry to drag this one up from the depths, however, I really need to know if anyone here can beat Desktop Tower Defense on 10,000 Gold Fun Mode.

10k gold you say? Surely, this is a piece of piss. No, it fucking isn't, and I've had several attempts and I can only get as far as Level 77 (score 9519) before I'm toast. I would say its impossible except I know that there are some serious freaks out there.

managed 70odd with just squirt towers arranged in a cross with an island in the middle.

Start off with a few of the cheapest towers, and make a couple of columns so that they have to go up the screen and then back down ther screen.

Then each tower gets twice as many opportunities to shoot at the crawling creeps.

Then when you have some money buy about 5 squirt towers and just upgrade them to the max.
