IGNORE: The iBook doesn't do that double channel gubbins anyway - and I can only afford the £21 one, so I've bought that. If you're reading this, I'm sorry to have wasted your time!
So I've got a little iBook (12"/1.33Ghz/512Mb RAM/80GB Hard Drive) that needs to get me through my thesis writing. I love it , but is starting to show it's age and struggle. I figure that the best way to fix this (and the only one in my price range) is to bump the ram up a bit. You lot are all super clever computer peeps so I humbly ask your advice on the following questions:
1) Will I break my iBook if I try and do this? (aka is it easy)
2) Where should I buy it from (crucial has 512Mb stick for £21 and a 1Gb stick for £59)
And crucially,
3) Should I stretch myself to a 1 Gb stick (giving me 1.5 Gb in total) or should I just buy a 512Gb stick so that I have a matched pair that exploits "dual channel memory" which apparently makes things go faster, and I've no idea what that is.....
(I'm a skint student remember so if the extra 512 Mb only gives a slight improvement over paired memory I'ld rather save the money)
