I don't think it will change too much for people without kids there - there'll be no mass "group" events like the quiz or the Mafia Scum from last time, and we'll have to sneer at the "plugged-in" people from within the same house, but that's about it.

It will, of course, be a nightmare for the people with the kids.

Ooh, I can't wait for the "Will you come and sort this child out, I've been doing it All. Day. While you play your stupid games! And it'd be nice if I could have a drink!" :p lolz

Seriously, mine are 8 and 11 and we still have these 'discussions' at events like weddings etc. There's no chance they're coming to this. You just cannot account for how kids are going to behave on the day, they are far too much like hard work and neither parent will be able to enjoy themselves to the fullest.

If it's near Derby then I can come down for a day (or two) with the children and then go back home again at night - as my son is disabled it makes it far easier and to be honest a lot more sense given that derby is a 20 mins away from my house.

I'm hoping to be an 'in'. The only 'kid' I would bring is Sam, he will be nearly 17 and is hardly 'childlike'. But he's not here yet to be asked.

Hi, I'm yet to be 'in' due to being a notorious baby killer. Seriously, I'll kill your babies.

Will this be a problem?

I am at least moderately interested in this, as you all seemed to have a lot of fun last time and I rather regretted not going.

I would not be bringing Zioette. She'll be almost two and a half by then. I'll be wanting a weekend off.

I am possibly interested. Mulling. Put me down as mulling.

I'll try and make you all watch at least one obscure TV show. Possibly Eerie Indianna. I will also bring whiskey.

Do those and I'm in. Cash machine making friends with that kid + single malt = good times.

When will you know? Can you book specific weekends off?

The timing stopped you coming last time; wouldn't want it to happen again.

Potentially the first weekend at the very start of October but we'll need to get Jen to double check that when she's next in work and find out which other weekend around then is good. She might be able to book a weekend off but again but it won't happen 'til she's in work.

I've promised Andy that he can have the evenings off from the baby while we're there so he can drink and play games and geek out. This may be stupid of me, but it should get me something really pretty and shiney (new earrings maybe?) in return.

I have been instructed to bump this (not long to go now) to see if we can get some sort of idea what weekend it might be happening. This was only because we might be away the weekend of the 23-25th September, but I see someone has already nabbed the cottage that weekend anyway (it wasn't us), so, er, carry on.

I'll have a look at this again when I get a moment. Which will probably be next week, when I'm back at work.

:DD

If you want to come, and there are dates when you can't make it, please be sure to mention them!

Bumpety bump.

If there are only two dates left shouldn't we get this sorted before the choice is made for us?
