If both weekends are the same price, get the people that have met all four to decide ;)

Just pick the Gaywoods if that is the case! We can't compete with a shouty gnome dwarfWelshite (wel-shite hehehe!)

I just flipped a coin.

Not only did Gaywood loose, he now has to pay for Flis and Ramsea.

HTH HAND.

This choice is annoying. Both are ace couples. That said, I can't even guarantee I can come along.

Other than the probability of meeting you and Riles again?

Just to reiterate, our preference for the 14 is marginal at best. It's also possible that we don't attend either date, but we are good for the money in any event.

She's obviously still sleeping because she's not got back to me yet. Maybe I'll spam her with texts to annoy her since it's a Tuesday and she has a day off.

If you could get an answer today that'd be superduper.

If not, meh, I only had two and a half hours of sleep so probably won't get anything done today!

Ok we can do the 14th October as Jen is early shift the Friday and off the rest of the weekend. The 30th September is unworkable for us because it is Jen's nightshift weekend and impossible to get cover for.

So to expand on Joans' summary from earlier:

The case for Sept 30th
Gaywood and Crumpet - 30th only
Craster + Mrs C - Prefer 30th
Me & GJ - would prefer the 30th

The case for Oct 15th
Flis + Ramsea - Can't do the 30th
Gill + Jen can't do the 30th
Apple Pie + Tart - would prefer the 14th

It's looking like the 15th.

Where's the wedding, Gaywoods? No option at all of doing both? The UK isn't that big! :p

It's about a three hour drive from the wedding venue to Derby; and they are close friends, so I'd be there from Saturday morning until the early hours of Sunday anyway. There's no working around it. It's a shame, but 'tis what it is.

I've called the guy a couple of times today, but his phone is switched off. I'll keep on trying, and leave him a message if I ahve to.

Unfortunately for El Gaywoods, I'll be booking for the October 14th date. Sorry guys, would really love to have you there are you're both thoroughly excellent, but more people couldn't make the other date.

Righto. I have spoken to the lovely owner, and pending him checking that the other company he lets it through haven't placed it over the last week (he's been on holiday), the cottage is ours for the weekend of the 14th, at the same price we paid last year, which is £2,205 (incl fuel surcharges).

So, obviously the cost of the whole thing will vary depending on how many of us go. If we take a conservative estimate of 25 it'll be 88 quid per head, though I suspect and hope we may have one or two more than that. If we go over the allocated amount of actual beds that are there (30, I believe), then the lovely people who choose to sleep on floors, sofas or blow-up mattresses will of course get a monetary discount.

We need to pay a deposit of 500 quid (I think, again will confirm during the week), so if I could get 20 people to chuck me 25 quid each, then that would be fabulous (I can, of course, count myself as 2 people in that, and will keep a tally of who has paid what).

All deposits are reimbursable. Prompt payment makes the gods of bed allocation* look more kindly upon you.

Most of you should have either my paypal or bank details.

Let's get this show on the road! Who's gonna confirm they're in by throwing money at me?

Woop woop!

:DD

*There are no gods of bed allocation. First come, first served, within reason (couples get priority on double beds, etc)

In, confirm the bank details are the same as mine, and I will have £25 in there immediately. :)

Can you also confirm we have the flat until Monday, as this seemed to pass a few people by last time?

I can confirm that my bank details are the same, though not as Bobby intimated, the same as his.

Feel free to delay sending me cash until I get the nod from the owner if you prefer.

First post has some updated details for those new to the party.

I will whack £25 your way this week (via paying in over the counter at the bank), or rather Pauline will.

I'll be a last minute entry again. As per last year (can't believe it will have been over a year) I'm still in an unstable job environment.

If I do come, I expect a trail of palm leaves as I ride in on a donkey*
