As far as i remember there was some article in WoS about MAME not having highscore saving feature anymore. Since i'm pretty much a n00b is this matters, what is MAME version i should search. Are there any worthwhile plug-ins?

Just go get MameXT, which still has that feature.

And how can i use this feature. I used MAME before but i wasn't aware of the highscore saving capabilities until recently.

I think it just automatically saves/loads a file when you startup/exit a rom. I certainly remember a directory full of files like gamename.hi.

i had my highscore.dat file in the hi folder, when it should be in the root.

Anyone knows of some way to find the games we want in the zipfiles names. I'm having an hard time finding Wonderboy in monsterland.

Any shmups recommendations? Been playing DoPachi, Progear and GigaWing a lot.

I don't know if the regular MAME does this, but the GUI for MAME Plus! has a search box at the top of the window that you can use to find games.
