Can anyone reply to the bargains thread? I can't post in there, just get an error page. Also, I can't see page nine of the thread.

Just me?

There is but a vast expanse of white where page 9 formerly resided*. And of replies, the cupboard is bare.

That really should be 'resode', you all agree? It's just me? Oh.

Oh, I don't get blank page, I get a 'Safari can't open this page because of all this nonsense...' message.

I agree on the resode, as long as the 's' has a soft 'z' sound.

I'm using Opera, and it's just blank.

Yes, a soft 'z' sound. The 'r' should be rolled, too.

Oh, Dimmers, with these humorous asides you are really spoiling us!

I don't suppose there were any error numbers on that page, were there? 404? 500?

Set up custom error pages that dump a log somewhere, Grim... :)

PHP can easily just bork occasionally though, it happens on the odd site of mine, but that's not because anything is fundamentally broken.

Once you use a colon you need to start the next word with a capital letter.

That sentence had nothing to do with my correctness. Simple fact: you're wrong.

See? You're quite able to start ridiculous arguments without me. And Myoptika is right. He has brought the pain.

I'll say it again: I'm right.

(see the exception that proves the rule?)

I agree with Myoptika, I would never use a capital after a colon or semi-colon.

OK then, Mr English Face, explain this seemingly nonsensical idiom.

I don't understand why 'I' is capitalised but 'you' isn't. Weirdness. It's like we've picked up the capitalisation of pronouns for the first-person, but not second-person. Also 'i' would look shit.

Most interesting explanation I've encountered for this:

I can also be read as 'one'. "When making lasagne, I always uses chopped apricots." Read that but with I as 'one'.

If you use a colon after a name then you start with a capital letter. Look it up.

ANYWAY

We used to capitailze all Nouns. Reading old Books which still feature this Method can be really annoying to the modern Eye.

That wasn't what you said at all - stop backtracking.

Admit you're wrong, then move on.

So it's the exception that tests the rule.
